Stortford Music Festival 2008

Formerly known as Woodworks, and now in it's 10th year, this festival aims to encourage the participation and enjoyment of folk arts, drawing on assistance from the local community. Along with a UK-wide network of musicians, dancers, tutors and enthusiasts, opportunities are provided for people of all ages to come together to learn, listen, network, and enjoy live music.

There are two stages - an Acoustic Marquee and a Green Stage. Some of this year's artists have already been announced, including AloneMe (headlining on Saturday night), No I.D. (headlining on Sunday), plus Mozzy Green, The Strangerhood, Stuart Mason, Helen Penfold, Happnin’ Boy, Rich Fyna, Ed Hope, and Bishops Stortford Ukelele Society. St. Mary's Catholic School Jazz Band and BS Music Centre Wind Band will open Saturday's performances. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Expect over 45 acts interspersed with local bands, theatre companies, other performance art groups will be appearing in an Arts Marquee, and a couple of acoustic showcase sessions.

A variety of workshops are usually on offer, including guitar, percussion, dijeridoo and DJ skills. There's also street performance, a festival market, hot and cold food, a beer tent, and craft and music stalls, plus children's activities at different venues around the town.

Tickets are on sale priced as follows: Family Ticket For The Weekend (2 Adults and 2 children aged over 10) £50.
Adult Weekend Ticket (Under 10's FREE with Adult) £17.50.
Child Weekend Ticket (10 to 16 with Adult) £12.50.
Adult Day Ticket (Under 10's FREE with Adult) £12.50.
Child Day Ticket (10 to 16 with Adult) £7.50.
