Kew the Music is the new name for Summer Swing at Kew Gardens, Richmond - a series of summer concerts which take place from Wednesday 6th until Monday 11th July 2011.

Line-up

The line-up features Bryan Ferry supported by Sophie Ellis Bextor, a London exclusive with Jamie Cullum, Blondie, plus Jools Holland, making his annual appearance with guest Sandie Shaw. Kew have also secured a visit from the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club with their only UK summer date so far and a special opening set by Cuban diva Omara Portuondo and jazz piano legend Chucho Valdés.

Monday 11 July: Blondie, The Magnets (Tickets £36).

Tickets will go on general sale on 7th March 2011.

On site

Kew also hosts the Swing Village which offers a variety of foods to buy, and free products to try.

Timings

The concert ticket does not include daytime entry to the gardens. On concert days the gardens will close at 6.00pm (last entry 5.15pm). Approximate timings: Gates open 6.30pm Music starts 7.30pm approx Support - 7.30pm - 8.30pm approx; Main act 8.50pm - 10.15pm Firework 10.15pm approx.

Getting there

Entrance for all ticket holders is via Victoria Gate or Lion Gate on Kew Road (A307). Ticket collection is from 6.00pm at Victoria Gate; after collecting tickets, patrons should then join the main queue.

Seating

At The Concert No seating is provided so do bring your own picnic rugs and a picnic.

For safety reasons, all naked flames (ie. barbecues, candles, flares and lanterns), gazebos and picnic tables are not allowed.

Disabled guests

The nearest disabled parking to the concert entrance is on Kew Green and at the car park near Brentford Gate. However space is available outside Pavilion Gate (halfway between Victoria Gate and Lion Gate) for dropping off disabled visitors, please note this gate is ONLY available for disabled visitors; all other visitors should use Victoria Gate or Lion Gate. Within the arena an area is roped off for disabled guests No concessions for carers.
