Mercury Music Prize nominated Guillemots are certainly a band on a roll just now – their album is receiving great reviews, and they are the band on everyone’s lips this weekend, and the size of the crowd they draw is testament to that, despite clashing with another hype band, the Mystery Jets.

Fyfe Dangerfield is certainly an interesting front man, strolling on stage in a hat and long black coat, looking not unlike the stereotypical spy you would see in a movie, and as soon as the band launch into their breezy indie-rock, they have the whole audience captivated.

The best song of the set is no surprise – “Made Up Love Song” is as beautiful and haunting a song as you could imagine, with gorgeous harmonies and heavenly vocals melting the hearts of every single audience member, and when they can follow up with numbers as strong as “Trains to Brazil”, they truly are a band with the world at their feet.

Guillemots have a lot to look forward to – their live show today is mesmerising, just under an hour passes like it’s five minutes, and by the time they leave the stage, the tent near empties, but with a lot of new fans to buy their records in the future – and that is what a festival performance is all about. Truly magnificent.
