The thumping drums of ‘Ashes’ signals the beginning of Embrace’s set, and what a superb set it is. “Now watch me rise up and leave, all the ashes you made out of me” chants Danny McNamara, nodding his head in time with the beat, encouraging the audience to sing and clap along whilst a huge smile works its way across his face.

McNamara races from one side of the stage to the next, dancing wildly, congratulating the audience and immersing himself in the music. He makes special mention of Chris Martin when introducing ‘Gravity’. “If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t be playing to so many people today”.

Embrace perform ‘Someday’ and ‘Glorious Day’ from the number one selling album ‘Out of Nothing’. ‘Come back to what you know’ and ‘All you good good people’ are both included from the earlier stages of Embrace’s career.

The band decides to take it up a notch with ‘Every Adam, every Eve’ which shortly proceeds ‘Save me’. “I want everyone jumping up and down for this, if you can’t jump I want you to sway your hips, if you can’t sway your hips I want you to nod your head” McNamara beams.

Embrace round off the best set of TITP so far with the fantastic ‘The Good will out’. Apparently they had a lot of trouble choosing what song to play and I don’t think it would have mattered what they had picked.

Clearly choked McNamara leaves the stage telling the audience “I’ll never forget today, thank you so much”.
