Local boys Sucioperro draw close comparisons to fellow Scots Biffy Clyro in their energetic live shows, and their first festival gig has shown that they are a band to look out for.
An incenduary "Imitation Heaven" opens the set, and the Dragon is on top form, his vocals are just abrasive enough to stand out over the energy that they manage to pack into their heavy guitar riffs.
The show continues this way, "I Don't Hate It/I Accept It" and "The Drop" prove to go down well with the relatively impressive crowd that had assembled in the T-Break stage. Support slots with the Subways and Fightstar have clearly helped the band perfect their stage craft, and all four band members have gelled perfectly.
In terms of energy and stage presence, it's almost impossible to fault the band. With every note they seem to have been jolted with electricity, and they clearly enjoy theirselves, playing a mix of older songs and songs from latest EP "The Hidden Perils of Dancing".
As their thirty minute set draws to a close, "Apathy=Inaction" proves that the band are more than a one trick pony. Biffy Clyro started out in the T-Break tent, so it seems fitting that Biffy play the main stage today. Will we see Sucioperro playing the main stage in a few years time? Don't bet against it.
