Truck America (USA) 2010

Truck Festival are to put on an event in America, Truck America, happening over the weekend of Friday 30th April until Sunday 2nd May 2010 at Full Moon Resort, Catskills Mountains, New York, in the USA.

Line-up

Mercury Rev will headline with Willy Mason, Gary Louris, Sam Isaac, White Rabbits, Hopewell, Tim Easton, The Sadies, Mike & Ruthy, Ida, The Joy Formidable, Neil Halstead, Dusty & The Dreaming Spires, Cat Martino, The Silent League, Common Prayer, Oxygen Ponies, Brandon Patton, Atlantic / Pacific, Wintersleep, The Shoestring Band, and many more acts on 3 stages (The Barn, The Roadhouse and the Main stage, in a large heated tent). Tickets

Ticket are priced at $120 ticket (approximately £75), children aged 12 and under are free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To buy tickets, click here.

On site

The festival is not just about watching bands. There will also be workshops, films, kids activities and jam sessions, and a healthy dose of English style camping for those who don't book a room.

The event

Truck festival in Oxfordshire has run for 13 years inspired by America's Woodstock Festival and has the same basic principles of independence and ethically minded and cooperative production, with a passion for introducing cutting edge new music as well as a reverential nod back to the classics. This new event hopes to recapture the spirit of the hippie festival.

Location

Positioned 2 hours north of New York city and 3 hours from Toronto (and actually 30 miles closer to Woodstock than the original festival was) they are aiming to make it a 1000 capacity festival.
