The 30th Upton Upon Severn International Jazz Festival happens from Friday 26th until Sunday 28th June 2015. The festival offers a blend of a range of jazz styles and a dash of mainstream/modern and swing with traditional jazz and Dixieland foundations.
The festival held beneath the Malvern Hills offers three days of jazz, fun and good company beside the River Severn in Worcestershire.
Line-up
There will be 60 concerts over 3 days, plus 2 Parades, and a Church Service.
The first acts confirmed are Alan Barnes, Alligator Gumbo, Annie Hawkins’ Jazzmen, Amy Roberts, Ben Cummings – tribute to Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan, Ben Holder’s Gypsy Fire, Buck Clayton Legacy Band (UK. Germany, Holland), Carl Sinclair’s Boogie Band, Chris Pearce Quartet, Craig Milverton Trio, Dixie Strollers, FB Pocket Orchestra, Graham Hughes Quartet, Hot Banana, Hotsy Totsy, Jamie Brownfield, Jazzaholics, John Hallam, Keith Nichols Hot Six, Harlem Madness, Kevin Grenfell’s Jazz Giants, Malcolm Sked, Matthias Seuffert (Germany), Moscow Drug Club, Nick Ward, Old Hat Jazz Band, Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, Pedigree Jazz band, Perdido Street Jazz Band, Richard Leach's 7 Stars of Jazz, Savannah Jazz Band, Simon Banks & Kevin Grenfell, Statoil Big Band (Norway), Sticky Wicket and His Swing Orchestra, and Stockholm Stompers (Sweden).
Tickets
The early bird offer has ended. Tickets are priced at £78 for a full weekend. Day tickets are priced at £28 for Friday, £38 for Saturday, and £33 for Sunday. Children under 14 have free entry if with an adult ticket holder.
Camping and Caravans
The festival has its own camping and caravan site which is only open to ticket holders and will be supervised at all times. The site opens at 2pm on Thursday until 12noon on Monday.
Camping is priced at £30 per person. Facilities will include hot showers and washbasins, water, toilets and refuse points.
River mooring
There is FREE mooring on the town pontoon and riverside moorings.
Accommodation
There is also plenty of accommodation options available in the Malvern, Ledbury, Tewkesbury and Pershore areas.
