Folk Clubs

Upton is blessed with ten licensed premises plus a boat with a bar, all of which welcome the folk community for informal and organised sessions. The festival also hosts Folk Clubs in which there are open mic sessions. Just turn up in good time before the start and ask. (Spots will be allocated at the discretion of the MC.)

There will also be free dances under the bridge, plus the popular 'Upton Fringe' events, and spontaneous street acts.

Camping

The camp site, only open to festival ticket holders, is on the edge of the town, about 2 minutes away from the action. It offers showers, "posh" toilets and a club house for late night sessions.Camping is priced at around £15 per person for the weekend, under 14's free.

Wet weather provision

The committee have arranged a local alternative camp site which they can use if the usual one is flooded. This is Brickwalls Barn Camp Site, Gilberts End, a pleasant rural site about 3 miles outside Upton and well away from any potential floods. There is a seven acre field which will be available to the Folk Festival. Organisers will, of course, provide a free shuttle bus service.
