Walthamstow Festival takes place from Friday 18th August to Sunday 20th August.
Walthamstow Festival is a not-for-profit organisation that is run entirely by volunteers.
The Friday is dubbed 'McGuffins Film Night' and runs from 7:00pm - 11:00pm. The night will start with a selection of film makers from East London, presenting and screening their short films, building up to the main movie of the night which is Doctor Who: The Invasion Of The Daleks.
Saturday is 'Olympic Sports Day' and runs from DAY 11am - 5pm - with a full sized boxing ring, basketball, fencing, football tricks , martial arts, Pole Vault, and free running/parquor from Urban Freeflow and the Young Sports Person of the Year. From 5 until 10 is the Walthamstow dance party, which includes Craggz & Paralell Forces, Flaming Monkeys, and Step 13.
Sunday has performances on the Global Local Stage from Ska Cubano, Forty Thieves Orchestra, Mukka, Flamenco Irie, Shekoyah, Ivory, Emmanuelle Christian Centre, Howard Brown Supersound, and Terry Cole.
Acts confirmed for the Local Band Stage are Tabloid Zens Betamix, National Snack, Pearly, The Happiness, and Bevis Frond.
There is also an Urban Peace Stage with Young MC`s and Dancers from Eastside, Solomons Music Academy. The Red Onion Big Dance Ballroom with tango, swing, jive, salsa and more. Plus entertainment for kids.
