Three days of concerts and ceilidhs, plus music & dance workshops, and dancing displays including Morris, Appalachian, Irish, Scottish, Clog, and more.

The line-up has Dervish headlining the Sunday night, with other confirmed acts so far including Michael McGoldrick Band, Drever, McCusker, Woomble, Boo Hewerdine and Heidi Talbot, Steve Knightley, The 2Duos, Crowfoot, Secret Orders (with Leo McCann & Nathan Jones), Jez Lowe & the Bad Pennies, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, Kerfuffle, The Machine Breakers, The Long Notes, Andy Stone & Matt Tarling, Frank Burkitt Band, Anna Shannon, Julian Dawson, Andi Neate, and Black Tulip. The ceilidh Bands include The Watch - Caller Pete Rees, and Steam Chicken - Caller Will Hall.

Wimborne Folk Festival was founded in 1980 and has become one of the largest gathering of dance teams and musicians in the South of England.

The event is based on the town centre's streets and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the UK, and from the rest of the world. The festival features both contemporary and traditional music with a mixture of singers and musicians, plus Morris Dancers, ceilidh groups and callers.

Tickets:
Tickets are priced at £68 (no camping)/ £75.50 (inc camping) adult w/e tickets - held at the same price as 2008. The Weekend Season ticket entitles the holder to unlimited access to any or all of the Festival Concerts and Ceilidhs. Individual evening or afternoon concert tickets are also available, and are priced from around £10-£18 depending on the event. Child tickets (aged 8-14yrs) are half price. Accompanied children under 8 years get in free. There is a 10% reduction for senior citizens and students on weekend tickets only. All lunchtime concerts and workshops are free. The festival also offers market stalls, and childrens' entertainers including Punch & Judy with Ticklish Allsorts. The festival will be offering something to amuse the kids the whole weekend.

The festival campsite is available for weekend festival ticket holders only. It is about 8 minutes walk from the town centre and there is an extra charge for staying there.
