The Wizard Festival, now in its fifth year, takes place at the New Deer Show Ground near Peterhead and Fraserburgh, North East Scotland, on August bank holiday weekend and will be held on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th August 2011.
Line-up
The Stranglers will headline Friday, and Cast Saturday, with The Magic Numbers, The Saw Doctors, The Twang, Tommy Reilly, The Bad Shepherds, Erol Alkan, The Japanese Popstars, Jon Fratelli, Sound Of Guns, Broken Records, The Xcerts, Bombskare, Hard Cash and the Folsom Four, The Little Kicks, Lorelei, Iain McLaughlin & the Outsiders, Celtallica, aka-SKA, Velvet Audio, MacFloyd, The Travelling Band, RhythmnReel, and more. Tickets are priced at £75 including camping & parking, and £50 for a Saturday only day ticket. Fans that turn up at the gate on the day the festival begins, Friday August 26, will get weekend tickets at face value price of £75 and the same deal is available on Saturday August 27 for day passes at £50.Camping
A separate quiet family camping area has been set aside for families with young children who want to come along to the festival. Set just a few minutes from the main camping area, the family camping area will be well signposted and have a well cordoned off section specifically for families with young children.Wee wizards
A family friendly event, Wizard also runs a full two day children's programme and has a dedicated arena, Wee Wizards, where families and young people can get involved in creative and musical activities and workshops.On site
Located on a 50 acre site, on New Deer's Showground, The Wizard Festival incorporates a campervan park and tent campsite, food courts, shopping areas, a fairground, a village shop, first aid & security village, ample car parking and plenty of portaloos!Fringe
