The Woodford Folk Festival takes place near the small country town of Woodford, 70 km north of Brisbane, Australia between Christmas and New Year. Taking place over six days with more than 2000 performers and 580 events. The Festival features mainly Australian performers and a generous gathering of special international guests, as well as an extensive emerging artists programme.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at $470 (Australian dollars) for an adult ticket the whole event with camping, youth tickets (13-17 yrs) are $343, child (6-12 yrs) $22, and toddlers (0-5 yrs) are free. There are also ticket options for those not camping, and day, and evening ticket options. To buy tickets, click here.

As well as music the festival programme includes concerts, dances, workshops, forums, street theatre, writers' panels, film festival, comedy sessions, acoustic jams, social dialogue and debate, an entire children's festival, art and craft workshops, late night cabarets and special events including a fire spectacular during the New Year's Day closing ceremony.

The festival has concerts throughout various venues including the Amphitheatre, the Concert, the Grande, and the Bazaar.

Green ethos

The festival has an extensive Environmental Program called the GREENhouse. The Greenhouse explores birds, butterflies, urban wildlife, ideas for creating positive change, bicycles, sustainable societies, intentional communities, global capitalism and fuelling alternatives and more through debate, presentations, talks, films and forums.

It also promotes non-mainstream complementary medicine, ritual and ceremony with the traditional indigenous custodians of the festival site land.
