Now in its 7th year, Youth Beatz is an interactive FREE event for young people aged 12-25 to have fun, take part and be better informed.
The event takes place on Saturday 8th August 2015 at Dock Park, in Dumfries, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland from noon until 10.30pm.
Line-up
Headlining the main stage are Union J, Scouting for Girls and Neon Jungle. They will be supported by Nathan Grisdale, Model Aeroplanes, Kloe, and local youth talent from the region that includes Ben Stubbs, The Mermaids and M.R. McNeil. Plus more to be announced.
The event
The event takes place in two parts the first runs during the day and includes an information marquee, inflatables and family attractions, sports zone, display zone, funfair zone, alongside live music on the main stage including local bands. The second part concentrates more on the music with the headliner and support acts and takes place in the evening. Daytime activities include Bootcamp Assault, Rodeo Banana, Human Demolition, Segways, Ski Slope, Pillow Wars, Lazer Quest and Bungee Run.
Tickets
This event is free but ticketed, and have all been allocated.
Priority will be given to ticket requests from Dumfries and Galloway residents. Children under 12 cannot apply for tickets - They must have a parent/guardian apply on their behalf. Children aged 2 and under DO NOT require a ticket, but children 3 years old and upwards DO require a ticket. Young people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 years old. This event is strictly no alcohol and everyone will have their bags searched on entry.

Now in its seventh year, the award winning event is managed through a partnership led by the Community Learning and Development Service Nithsdale in conjunction with the Oasis Events Team. Funding for the event has been secured from Nithsdale Area Committee, Young Start, Cash Back for Communities, Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, Buccleuch Estates, West Sound and Inspiring Entrepreneur Project.
Youth Beatz also sees the continuation of the, hard hitting immersive and interactive learning experience- The World of Wonka. Following last year’s great success, the World of Wonka returns and will deal with issues that affect young peoples’ lives. Topics addressed will include domestic abuse, poverty, alcohol, sectarianism and legal highs amongst others. Over 50 local young people volunteer to be involved in developing this and will be working all summer to put together this award winning educational experience.
