Conniving??

One of them sent text messages to players in the opposite changing room during a test match calling his captain a c**t.

The other is Alistair Cook.

As for the interviews, he is restricted on what he can say at the moment. It will change once the legal stuff is resolved.

I had no issue with KP being dropped, or the possibility of him being sacked for that. But after all the reintegration stuff, noone in the camp said he was a problem, including Swann. Swann had retired by then, and it was well known that he didn't get on with KP before, so I genuinely think it's a problem of Cook's (and possibly Prior), rather than the entire team. Everything that has come out so far has shown Cook and the ECB in a very bad light. Maybe once/if legal stuff is resolved and we get more information I'll eat my words, but based on everything I've seen/heard/read over it, I have no respect for Alistair Cook as a man-manager, captain, leader, etc, and it comes across as he was unwilling to accept criticism.

So Moores has got rid of Gooch and by the looks of things Cook either agrees with the decision, or doesn't want to rock the boat with his new coach...interesting

I never had any to start with Its for kids and adults people with low attention spans.

No I had given up on it previously,but Flintoff returning just makes it more of a circus. This idea of players having all these different teams and just moving about for a few weeks at a time, just doesnt appeal to me.

the reason they're making noise about it is because they underperformed with the bat, yes its an unusual way to get out but they did warn him twice and he still was aimlessly wandering without making sure his bat was in the crease. bbc has made far too big a deal of it as well.

Surprise aside, good performance. I'm still worried about Cook's captaincy, and how it's affecting his batting, but had several players put in a good innings. I look forward to seeing more of Moeen, and great that Root and Prior have had a good innings (which is still going) after their winter struggles.

Long way to go though. Both in this test and the overall rebuild.

was slightly worried after the poor start, but glad there were a few who looked comfortable.

cook looked poor again, robson looked nervous and ballance didn't really get 'in' looking uncomfortable before he got caught.

bell and moeen ali looked in decent nick, but got out too early.

great for root and prior though, both with something to prove, and have done well so far.

really need to push on in the morning, get prior to a century, then jordan to maybe come in at some point and try to cement his place in the side before going in to field.

I'm actually quite pleased it ended in a draw, but we still got close. It will encourage Cook to be more aggressive chasing the win at Headingley (where I'm going to the 3rd and 4th days).
