Aye I've got the old nano, the one that's aluminium on the back. You can get a wee pouch to attach to your shoes, bout a fiver on eBay I think.

I didn't actually realise til I put my trainers on the other day that I have nike+ shoes so I didn't need to bother with the pouch!

What, you stick the iPod nano in your pocket and a sensor on your shoe? Sorry if Im being extra stoopid here, I just dont know how they work.

Yup, you get 2 bits, one is a receiver and plugs in your nano, then the other bit in your shoe! It records your distance and pace and how many calories you've burned, you can set specific workout play lists etc, and when you plug in your ipod to comp it uploads all your info to nike website so you can track your progress etc and take part in online challenges and stuff.

I'm only just starting out so I'm running 1 minute then walking 3, but its good for checking distance and speed!

So, would this kit work for only £5.39?

The Nike website is shite, so i got myself one of these:

Super bit of kit and not too expensive either.

Oh I really like the nike+ site, it's certainly helping me train.

Just completed 9 miles, plenty of walking breaks but did it in a reasonable time and the sun is shining, so I'm happy!

Anyone know much about weight loss and exercise? I'm following weight watchers plan and over my first 2 weeks I lost 6lbs from just following the diet.this week I've followed the same diet, but started exercising, done 3 run/walks and also an hour swimming, but managed to put on 2lbs  I was gutted when I got on the scales at my class tonight!

First week is usually down to water loss - first week weightloss is very misleading. It can take your body time to adjust to a new regime. Are you eating all your bonus points? Although I've never done WW, the fitness board on their website often go on about eating all your points. If you don't make up the deficit in calories created by exercise, your body won't let go of the fat you want to burn off.

Also, drink a hellalot of water.

Thirdly, don't bother weighing yourself! Maybe once a month? Go by feel of clothes and how you look. And go to Boots and get your body fat% calculated on one of their machines...I found that a massssive motivator, even though weight wasn't going anywhere, bf% was.

Bloody snow :O

The snow has gone from our area but has turned into torrential rain, eurgh. Went out today to do 9 miles but had to cut it down to 7 because I got to the point where I could no longer see anyhting and thought it was a bit dangeorus!! Averaged 9 mins a mile though which is what I was aiming for. For shorter runs like 3ish miles I'm on about 8.20ish a mile. So it's going ok!
