eFestivals
It wouldn't alter that much if they found small things were made of smaller things - it would just ean an incomplete theory was still incomplete. I actually quite like the idea that we haven't developed enough to be able to understand it yet - that we just aren't yet clever enough to make sense of it all But isn't the starting point of quantum physics (as it stands now) that there's nothing smaller than the particles we already know of? If that's blown away then so is all of quantum physics as it stands. They'd have to start considering that there's forever smaller and smaller things, which would be a whole new branch of thinking, but wouldn't be quantum. dakyras
Look - I had a MASSIVE rush of blood to the brain when I read that comment above, and what I said was pretty moderate compared to my initial reaction, so if you don't want me rushed to hospital I suggest that you just don't talk to me, and I won't talk to you, ok? -pogo-
It's obviously not possible, because if it was there'd be a queue of people trying to go back in time and kill your great great grandparents
eFestivals
No not at all - scientists already know there is loads of stuff missing. Oh, I know. But it's still an idea that's been built up on what they believe they've got right... but might not have.
eFestivals
Does nobody else support the time travel theory? I heard a theory about this the other day that said if there was time travel, it would only ever be possible to travel back as far as the day that time travel was discovered. So it would be a limited time travel. It's an idea that makes logical sense, but then again I'm not sure how much logic has to do with something like time travel. Atlanteanlost
Nah, you see there isn't another end back then. It's like a telephone, you have to have one at each side to make a call.
-pogo-
Or something to travel through, i.e. a wormhole (not part of a certain members anatomy). As the LHC will possibly create wormholes there will be a means by which to travel and then because the future will be created by people like yourself it will be possible for them to warn us and we could get rif of you now for them. Atlanteanlost
That is just science full stop though isn't it? Archimedes has continued to be right for about 2200 years - but he might be wrong tomorrow - we dont know what games god might play with us in the future

Langdale Wolf
My head is f**ked. This is easily the most confusing thread I've ever read. I was always hopeless at science. I thought a van der graaf generator was the make of football boots a famous Dutch striker endorsed. Thanks Atlantean for the basic, numbed down, Langdale-level explanation. Because I haven't got a f**king clue what the rest of you are on about.

Langdale Wolf
I should let you know he was guessing rather than offering solid well established fact. I find the idea that you can never get to the smallest because there is always something smaller a bit of a head f*ck tbf

Radar
No. Its a discussions forum and I retain the option to comment on anything anyone posts in it. If there is something that you don't want me to comment on, don't post it. End of. Put me on ignore so you can't see the reply, but if I want to comment on a post in a discussions forum, that is what I shall do until that privilege is removed from me by the site owners. llcoolphil
I'm not going to put you on ignore. You are retaining the option to be a bullying c.u.n.t, but I won't let you get away with it anymore. Whatever you say, I will simply reply that you are a bully and a c.u.n.t

Radar
Do you want me start a thread on latin conjugation so you might be able to offer something beyond your consistently vacuous bollox? You actually have nothing meaningful to offer any discussion do you.
