Swindlebiscuit
Absolutely freaking delighted, Mr. Knuckles! I knew you wouldn't let us down, EOTR Peeps. We just had to Stay Positive! (Yeah, I know. Couldn't resist it.)

ljsawyer
the Hold Steady! Yay Now, being the analytical person that I am, I shall attempt to predict the order of the bands this year at EOTR (based on tour dates and size of text on the EOTR site) Friday Garden Stage Explosions In The Sky Neko Case Herman Dune Vetiver Big Top Efterklang Dirty Projectors Saturday Garden Stage Fleet Foxes Okkervil River Alela Diane Shearwater Big Top The Horrors The Broken Family Band Sunday Garden Stage The Hold Steady Steve Earle Magnolia Electric Co. Archie Bronson Outfit Big Top Richmond Fontaine The Acorn? i'm almost certain sure of day but not of placement not entirely sure
airwaves
Jeez - I do hope they don't clash EITS with Efterklang. I know it's not an entire set overlap for the Garden Stage / Big Top headliners but that really would be a bummer for me.

DragKnuckles
Mmm...I don't really like the sound of Richmond Fontaine in the Big Top...I would rather see them mid to upper bill on the Garden Stage...think the Big Top can get a bit dark n' dingy and would rather see Willy et al have a bit more light and freedom! Is there anything which confirms them as in the Big Top or is it just a hunch?
andy55
Yep There's more stuff to be announced for the Comedy Stage and also there's some VERY exciting things in the works for the cinema tent. Announcements for that should be coming in the next week or so. EOTR this year really is going to be very special. Don't hang about if you haven't got your ticket! x

Hotcider
I'll be amazed if Brakes aren't headlining a night in the Big Top or high up on the Garden stage. They have been for the previous years
SweepingTheNation
Brakes are playing the Big Top on Sunday again, they say. I don't like how The Acorn don't have it on their Myspace and in a blog talk about spending lots of time in the studio after some July dates. ljsawyer
In that case, I'll probably see the start of the Hold Steady and then head off to the Big Top for Brakes. Now we just have to hope that Richmond Fontaine are playing the Garden Stage

Sipperana
What, no Young Republic or Woodpigeon? Surely End of The Road recording artists have to play? (which would be a good thing by the way)

SweepingTheNation
Same slot as the Mountain Goats last year (I knew there was a reason why I keep old clash finders), so clashing quite significantly with the Hold Steady.
Swindlebiscuit
Richmond Fontaine is Sunday at 9.15, big top stage. Brakes is same stage and day but couple hours earlier.

shoebox
Blitzen Trapper in the Tipi Tent!?!? Really? That'll be a bit different from seeing them supporting Wilco about a month earlier at the Troxy. Praying for The Dodos, Malcolm Middleton, Ohbijou and Richmond Fontaine not to clash with the vast amount of bands I want to see on the Garden Stage. DragKnuckles
Mmm...some "as expected" stage confirmations but then also some surprising ones: Can't wait for: Shearwater on Garden StageLeisure Society on Garden StageLow Anthem in Bimble Inn (This one will be packed!)However...I am a bit disappointed with the following choices: Richmond Fontaine in The Big Top (Mid on the Garden would be better)Tallest Man on Earth in The Big Top (Early on the Garden or late in Bimble would be better)Dent May in The Big Top (Perfect for sunny Garden Stage singalongs)It is clear that The Big Top is my least favourite stage...however overall the split is good for me...I have must sees on all stages...let's just hope the sound in The Local is better than last year! wolfamongwolves
richmond fontaine does not sound good in the big top. it was not a nice place to see anyone last year .
DragKnuckles
DragKnuckles - Don't worry, there should be some major improvements for The Big Top this year - it definitely felt too dingy and cavernous last year.
DragKnuckles
Sorry to ramble on... Are we sure that the complete lineup has been announced? The reason I ask is that looking at the per stage information we have the following: Garden Stage: 21 slots The Big Top: 23 slots The Local: 17 slots Bimble Inn: 24 slots That is a total for EOTR 2009 of 85 slots across all stages with 82 individual artists playing (3 playing two stages). Looking at the 2008 lineup I see that there are not only more individual artists (98) but a lot more slots too (100 not including DJs etc): Garden Stage: 24 slots The Big Top: 27 slots The Local: 23 slots Bimble Inn: 26 slots Longer sets? Smaller festival all round? I know i'm sad but thought i'd ask...still hoping for Anais Mitchell to be pulled out of the bag...she was touring with The Low Anthem after all!
