Unfortunately yes...Mrs Knuckles and I already have our tickets ordered...although not in hand...we will endeavour to hassle you and Mrs Swindles at every opportunity...maybe a "frothy bottle" will be left outside your tent flaps come Saturday morning. ;):P:P

Cor! It is only seven weeks away isn't it? That's no time at all!

On a side note, went to see Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards and The Leisure Society the other night. Was kinda hoping that having seen them this summer already, it would get rid of a couple of potential clashes. Unfortunately, they were both so good that I now want to see them again at the festival. Damn!

bennyhana 22 - Latitude was fun - apart from over-zealous security and some giraffe flag nicking fekkers

Sheep were variously purple, red, green and blue, and by day 3 we also saw some orange ones, and a single *special* multi-spotted one :P

We saw about half of the iLiKETRAiNS set - we were late in having been distracted by friends and cider. Good set, but dunno if they did Stainless Steel - if they did we missed it.

Thanks for remembering me, Elfy and glad you enjoyed iLT. Can't believe they did SS (given recent setlists) and as I couldn't go I'm going to assume that they didn't! Actually I'm sure I've read a brief idea of the setlist on the IlT site and they didn't

No real agenda today - just too continuously excited to allow the Main Thread to lie fallow too long!

Mr Capes - that much travelled question...any idea how close you are to a sell-out? I really WANT EoTR to sell-out to endorse it's credibility in a sea of newly-sprung opportunistic colections of disparate music acts (i.e. those non-events that would purport to be new festivals!). I see Big Green Gathering has gone to the wall over H&S etc. Tsk, tsk. No such problems at Larmer Tree, I trust?!

It's not really information we can divulge, sorry. All I can really say are tickets are selling well and we do expect to sell out this year again. If you're waiting round to get your ticket I do urge you to buy a ticket sooner rather than later though to avoid disappointment (the final block of tickets can go pretty fast when we get into August and people start thinking that September is only a month away...)

I'm not sure there are DJ sets - but last year the Bimble Inn had live bands until the very early hours - often bands who had performed elsewhere over the weekend doing generally more relaxed sets - like Young Republic and Woodpigeon doing mainly covers sets, and the excellent Modern Ovens :O

I can't quite reconcile this with your iLiKETRAiNS / post-rock self :O

Ah yes, the seeming contraditctions of my musical make-up! I'm not going to pretned that I'm one of those 'What do I like? Oh, yeah I have a really varied and eclectic (ARGH) musical tase...I like everything, me...' people. I'm not. My formative years (some time ago now... :) ) were spent listening to prog, singing every word of Marillion at high and rather tuneful volume, I might add. Then in my early late teens and early twenties I started also to be hooked by good beats - some of the more minimalist Acid House I found gave me a compulsion to throw some shapes. Badly. After that I've always liked dancey stuff, but very choosy - essentially if there are more than ethereal otherworldy vocals, I'm not interested! Eventually I discovered Orbital, who for me epitomised all I love to dance to. Intelligent, layered, beautifully created soundscapes that build and build and eventually soar, backed by really good beats. Compare that musical 'construction' to bands like Sigur Ros, iLiKETRAiNS, Blueneck and you'll see they share a common philosophy..it's all about the 'journey' with a final payoff of ecstasy. Now reading that, I realise it sounds unforgivably poncy and muso but I think I have just, for the first time, to someone I don't even know (!) tried to put into words what it is about music that gives me the most joy! I can enjoy lots of other stuff that doesn't give me that emotional rush, but increasingly I seem to get the most out of music that follows that kind of flow. Bottom line is, if there is good, bass and beat heavy techno around I will happily dance, quite sober, all night! At Latitude I was flinging myself around at the Lake stage at about 3am only for my pal to be asked if I was 'a Christian?' as my dancing seemed to suggest so to them! What the **** does that mean/say about me?! Do you think that there is any chance that we would see one another in a crowd and have any idea who the other was?! I'd say, no way...!
