DragKnuckles
Mmmm....have just read benny's bit about "heavy techno"...I now have my reservations!
Alex Capes
Sorry Alex - I kind of realised that it was a 'bad' question as I posted...it's OBVIOUSLY not information to give out! I guess I'm just very excited and very much want it to be as successful as the previous years clearly have been, as it'll be my first EoTR! And worry ye not - ordered long ago and due to your magnificently efficient operation my tickets are already safely bestowed at home! OK, better question: How much is there of DJ music sets late-on, after the stages have had the headliners? Can I look forward to dancing like a madman into the wee hours? And where do they tend to be - the tented stages, presumably? And what sort of stuff is there likely to be...i.e. will there be 'proper' dance music (rather than cheesy disco!). I went to Latitude last year and had a great time, with the only 'hole' being a lack of really good DJs... Thanks and apologies again for earlier insensitive impertinence! Elfy
If you're dancing like that at EOTR then, quite possibly, yes! Are you sure you've chosen the right festival?
Elfy
There will be music 'til late (I think 3am) in the Tipi Tent.
DragKnuckles
Being a bit dense - where was the Tipi Tent last year?
Elfy
The Bimble Mr. Elf...to the right of The Local tent and to the left of a stall that sold colourful clothing...sets by Clare and the Reasons, The Gentle Good etc.
DragKnuckles
Aaaah, I know the Bimble well, just didn't realise some people called it the Tipi .....and you can call me Miss Elf, or Ms, but definitely not Mr
geofelgie
Doesn't the big top have some more "authentic" dance stuff on past midnight? I've never been in....... usually because I'm too busy flitting between the local and the tipi trying to catch that one more band!
Elfy
Whoops...sorry Should've checked previous posts...many apologies Miss Elf
bennyhana22
Ben - I agree with GTG!!!! - well, the first bit anyway, I'm sure you've chosen the right festival, I fail to see how anyone can fail to enjoy EOTR
DragKnuckles
Oh and as a PS as I'm on a roll, where do the EoTR forumers sit on the 'you should never wear the band t-shirt to their own gig' debate? I'm one of those usually proud to wear my heart on my...err...chest. Anyone?
DragKnuckles
P.S...check out Spokes too...think you might like them...

bennyhana22
hmmmm.....tricky one....depends if it still fits! Those who are obviously entering into a "my t-shirt is older than yours cos I've obviously been into this band way longer and therefore you are a hanger-on" competition are a bit sad.....but I think this is a bit more Guilfest or maybe an Iron Maiden gig. Elfy
I think I might have misrepresented myself somewhat! What I was describing was those types of music that connect with me in very specific ways - post-rock stuff that builds and builds until that climactic payoff will be dearest to my soul for some time, I feel. But I really love other stuff as well, just have a slightly different 'relationship' with it...close friends rather than die-for-you bessie mates, maybe! Elfy
Re the t-shirt question....... I'm more in the camp of *not* wearing a t-shirt by the band I'm seeing - altho' don't have many band t-shirts anyway so not really an issue - in fact, can only think of Brakes and Duke Special in my current t-shirt collection. Maybe it's more a bloke thing? One thing which shouldn't be allowed is wearing a retro t-shirt for a tour you didn't go to Oh, and what about fezzie t-shirts? The only one I've ever bought was from last year's EOTR..... now should or shouldn't I wear it this year? Are they going to be the same or different this year? (I probably *will* wear it, cos it's such a cool t-shirt ) - actually, one of the good things about it is that it doesn't say EOTR on it anywhere, so only those in the know would know, if you know what I mean
ljsawyer
Just been getting into Vetiver's new album 'Tight Knit'. Some really awesome tracks on there but I'm worried that they'll clash with EITS
frogmanstar
Wear whatever T-shirts you like, and for the love of all that is holy do NOT follow arbitrary rules set down by other people as to when you should wear them! I keep remembering that I'm going to get to see Richmond Fontaine soon, and this makes me smile lots.
geofelgie
Trying not to think about Richmond Fontaine as likely to be clashed out of my plans (after all these years i HAVE to see Steve Earle and I can't resist seeing The Hold Steady doing a full headlining set). If they happen to have an early set it will be a lovely bonus! But yes, you should never take any notice from anyone else about what you wear (err, see other thread for evidence that I don't!!!!) sadwitch
I think my only band tshirts say Hefner on them and I couldnt wear one around EOTR incase I met Darren Hayman and died of embarrassment.
