Hi All...

I know this is far too soon but endoftheroadro did say that he is always up for suggestions! Anyway...here are a few suggestions for me for EOTR 2009 (limited to 10!):

- Anais Mitchell (for me the best singer songwriter of the last five years...I think she is touring with Bon Iver later this year - her "big break" finally!)

- Andy Whittle (perfect for early on in the Bimble)

- Ted Barnes (beautiful and moody...a late set in The Local?)

- Teitur (have the Faroe Islands been represented at EOTR before?!)

- Hayden (special canadian singer songwriter)

- Ben Christophers (doesn't tour much these days...you can do it...get him involved...genius!)

- The Veils (need something a bit more rocky for early evening on the Garden Stage)

- Emmett Tinley (of Prayer Boat fame...Attic Faith is astounding)

- Fleet Foxes (must have just missed the cut this year - have to get them next!)

- David Ford (another one perfect for early Bimbling!)

If I can get a couple of the above I will be VERY happy...what about you guys?

Sad to say that we're pretty unlikely to make it this time. We had a pretty good time in 2008, but we have had to cut down on our festie calendar for 2009 somewhat mainly for reasons of £££s, and EoTR was one we had to sacrifice. Shame, as I think Steve Earle will be fantastic. Enjoy it all!

Lots of people making cutbacks, was very fortunate in that I bought early-bird tickets for EOTR, Latitude and blissfields during a small window of non-skintness late last year.

Still got to afford getting there of course but once you've got a ticket!!!

I couldn't miss EOTR, be like not going home for two years.

Any news peeps?

I keep reading on other blogs about Fleet Foxes' "exclusivity deal" with one (or maybe two) UK festivals this year...does anyone (like me) think this should be our beloved EOTR?

Can't wait for the next batch of band brilliance...anyone fancy a late set in The Local for Kyte? One of my favourite bands from last year and they have just released an awesome E.P :)

Agreed, 'fiscal realignment' means we'll be dropping one Festival from our usual tour.

Definitely NOT either of the Larmer Tree festivals though - The Larmer Tree Festival is our annual 5-day 'holiday' AND I just couldn't drop The End of the Road Festival - been to them all, so it's my baby!

How many people walked up the hill at EOTR No.1 to see all of 5 traders' stalls, and thought 'wtf is all this!'

Expect we all thought it was instantly doomed, BUT, credit to Sofia etc, she took the hit and last year's was the brilliance she deserved.

Looks like Wychwood will have to go - but, it's early days and The Lottery Finger will point my way sometime, won't it.....................

Mmm...

Maybe this rumour of Fleet Foxes' "Exclusivity deal" is pants...hopefully anyway...seems they are now confirmed for Bestival 2009...

Fleet Foxes @ Bestival 09

I'll be honest...I thought they were a definite for EOTR this year after so much banter about them last year...we all know they are perfect for a sun-setting Garden slot.

Fingers are crossed...still ;)
