Steve Earle is not headlining...

interestingly ive just read that he's doing a Townes Van Zandt cover album, but what he's playing at the festival is anyone guess.

The headliner for the sunday will be revealed .............some time before september. Afraid I don't know more than that, but from talking to Simon i'm sure the various options will be welcomed on here...

as people keep saying, they seem to get it right more often than not.

I'm Glad people are getting into the acorn....as guy garvey said when they supported elbow in brighton: if you listen to the lyrics [on new album glory hope mountain] they'll break your heart.

They're going to be playing with Bon Iver in may too.......

as for me and where i've been......working is the most prominent answer. I'm still helping out on the unsigned side of things (there is at least one band who i'm sure you will like...) and writing and taking photos for various people....

I'll be around and about......not that you guys don't seem to have things pretty much worked out anyway...

Im just about as a fan of the festival.

take care all...

Turning into a cracking line up-and it's only March!!

Fleet foxes are a big act for EOTR to get their hands on-well done Simon.Saw them at the Roundhouse couple of weeks ago and they were wonderful.

Explosions in the Sky i'm probably most excited about, love that band but haven't seen them live yet.

Archie Bronson Outfit are great live although I thought they didn't do themselves justice the last time they played at EOTR(seen them better severals times).

As for the missing Sunday Headliner - i'll have a guess(wish!) at My Morning Jacket!?

been to every eotr and looking forward to this year my only moan is the number of those bloody picnic chairs in front of the mainstage whats wrong with a blanket or bin bag if wet ? am i the only festival goer to get upset by these things which stay there all day(often without an occupant) and then cause a hazardous obstacle course after dark during calexico last year was particularly bad i spilt my hot cider!am going to neil young at hyde park and am pleased to see chairs are banned perhaps eotr could impose a similar ban in the main stage area ?Enough of my grumpiness see you all in sept

Oh the smell of Bella Union...it seems that both EOTR and Green Man (who are having a Bella Union night!) are loving the label...EOTR confirmed Bella Unionites so far...

Explosions in the Sky

Fleet Foxes

J Tillman

Ohbijou

Peter Broderick

The Acorn

I (personally) am not overjoyed about Explosions in the Sky as headliners...not sure they will work as well as the Obersts, Calexicos and Revs of last year.

Anyway...my question is...if you could choose one Bella Union artist to play EOTR (not already confirmed for 2009) then who would it be and which stage/time would you like them to play?

Mine would be a toss up between Fionn Regan and Midlake with Fionn playing a secret gig on the piano stage in the woods whilst the sun sets and Midlake playing a big, late headline set on the Garden Stage with mass crowd-participation singalongs to Head Home and Roscoe.

;)

Any more for any more? x

Both good suggestions...prefer Bird to Veirs though...only have Carbon Glacier and her voice sometimes grates (don't hit me!).

Bird would be ideal for EOTR but not sure on the headline slot...he has the songs and the class but I think I would like something "bigger" to close the weekend...Mercury Rev were great last year (and i'm not their biggest fan either).

Next question then...(apart from Mr. Bird) what would be the ideal headliner for you for the Sunday Garden Stage wonderment?

Mine could, would, should be from one of the following:

The Shins

Sufjan Stevens

Ben Christophers (Not gonna happen but I can but dream!)

;) x

Bella Union: Andrew Bird, yes, and I'd like to see what Abe Vigoda are like live. If there is a connection, and I believe they're re-licencing the Low Anthem album off EOTR Records, I suspect My Latest Novel will play.

Headliner: The Decemberists would be amazing. I'd like Grizzly Bear to play somewhere too, because that album is just going to take off when it's released in May.

There's been so many great suggestions for the third headliner.....I'm having trouble deciding!!!

I will stick with Sufjan Stevens, just cos it would be amazing and likely to be a one-off....but eels, The National, My Morning Jacket, Shins, The Polyphonic Spree, Nick Cave.....I'm sure there's more.

I am thrilled with Explosions in the Sky. Never REALLY loved an album, I'm too much of a lyrics person (whose favourite band is Sigur Ros.......I'm a man, I'm not supposed to make sense) but I've heard so many reports as to how fantastic a live experience they are. I've twice been supposed to see them but it's either had to be cancelled or I had to miss it, so I can't wait!

OK - so I have had too much time on my hands today! I have managed to create a top 3 per stage per day EOTR ultimate festival lineup based on artists that attended the festival from 2006-2008...how sad am I!?! Would be a GREAT festival though eh!

FRIDAY

Garden Stage: Ryan Adams : Bon Iver : Bowerbirds

Big Top: Badly Drawn Boy : Micah P Hinson : James Yorkston

The Local: Gravenhurst : Richard Swift : Memory Band

Bimble Inn: Loney, Dear : Kathryn Williams : Sons of Noel & Adrian

SATURDAY

Garden Stage: Midlake : Ed Harcourt : Joan As Policewoman

Big Top: Calexico : Laura Marling : Jeremy Warmsley

The Local: Shearwater : Boy Omega : Woodpigeon

Bimble Inn: Dan Arborise : Things In Herds : Clare & The Reasons

SUNDAY

Garden Stage: Mercury Rev : Richard Hawley : My Brightest Diamond

Big Top: Conor Oberst : Malcolm Middleton : Absentee

The Local: Denis Jones : The Acorn : Simple Kid

Bimble Inn: Seabear : Jim Noir : The Accidental

Great lineup...but unfortunately would for me be one big CLASH! :P

Hello all,

I normally attend a couple of festivals every year - I always go to Glastonbury but the 2nd festy is always a bit more experimental. In the past I have gone to V, Reading, Oxygen, Isle Of Wight, Latitude, ATP Minehead, and Benicassim. This year I am SERIOUSLY considering End Of The Road.

The lineup so far looks awesome - The Acorn, The Dodo's, Okkervil River, Fleet Foxes, and Explosions In The Sky.

I've been on the website and it looks like a real chilled out friendly festival...... so I would just like to know peoples views on End Of The Road. Tell me your stories, experiences, and sell it to me, and I'll purchase my ticket quick snap!

Oh and my suggestions for added artists would be..... The National, Grizzly Bear, Elvis Perkins, Willy Mason, Bon Iver and Band Of Horses.

Many thanks.
