I watched this last night, I was damn tired but once I started watching it I didnt want to turn it off.

Its incredibly well presented, and at first I was a little troubled at how it was glorifying drug dealing, but all becomes clear towards the end. There are some great talking heads on it - Susan Sarandon, Woody Harrelson, Eminem, Freeway Rick Ross and 50 cent.

One of the best docs I have seen for quite some time.

Watched it over the weekend. Very good. Very funny in parts too.

Anyone see that Thatcher/IRA doc on Beeb 4 last night? Was on a few weeks ago too. Fascinating stuff. Gerry Adams saying that Brighton was a "legitimate action" was interesting.

Amazing they never really arrested anyone for any of the bombings.

Also watched The Trials of Muhammad Ali which is well worth a watch for any boxing fans.

I still like Dawkins, even though I know his dogmatic approach turns a lot of people against him, and he sometimes puts his foot in his mouth. I respect his fervent approach to atheism.

Atheists need Dawkins, even more so now that Hitch is no longer around.

I watched "As The Palaces Burn" yesterday on the recommendation of Kermode. Whilst I am a metalhead at heart, I'm not really fussed about Lamb Of God, but found the documentary to be brilliant. You dont need to be a fan of either LOG or heavy metal to enjoy this film.

It starts out as a bit of a documentary on the band, and particularly the singer Randy Blythe- and about halfway through, becomes something very different. If you arent aware of what happened to Blythe, I would suggest you stay in the dark and watch the film.

If you are in the dark, dont watch the trailer, its very "spoiler heavy"

Anyone watched anything good recently? Hasn't been a great yeaf for docs.

Best one I've seen recently which doesn't seem to have been mentioned here is Tale of an Osaka Love Thief which is about male escorts in Japan..

Also worth a mention I saw a cracking vice one called Farang: The Story of Chef Andy Ricker of Pok Pok Thai (really inspiring)

Love Child from the Sun dance Film festival about a couple in South korea that were so busy looking after a virtual child in a computer game they let their real child starve to death.

"I think we're alone now" about two Tiffany super fans was weird but interesting..

The Ambassador has to have been mention?? Brilliant doc about a guy who goes undercover and pays for the ambassadorship of a poor African country to smuggle blood diamonds and i'm guessing everyone's seen or heard of the act of killing which is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.

Just watched Next Goal Wins. It's about the lowest ranked international football team, American Samoa. It's one of those documentaries where the less you know the better. I thought it was great.

I'm sure Ive seen it mentioned in here a long time ago but just finished watching this week, The Staircase documentary series. 8 part crime/court case about the mysterious death of woman on the staircase and her husband is on trial for it, very gripping.

Once if you are planning on watching it, the less you know the better.
