So - his new album! Patchy enough as expected.

The Last Carnival / The Wrestler are brillo. Both classics methinks...

Outlaw Pete / Good Eye aren't bad I spose. Will both sound pretty deadly live!

Rest = middle aged samey samey bongwater.

No sign of Clarence or the ESB in general, and that Supermarket tune in particular is dreadful maudlin rubbish.

:)

Never mind. Bring on Glasters!!!!

Being stupidly excited about the prospect of Bruce playing and wanting to avoid getting on with any work, I had a quick look at the songs that he played on the UK and Ireland leg of his tour last summer. Amazingly he played 54 different songs across the 7 dates.

The following songs were played every night:

American Land (always end of the encore)

Born to Run (always somewhere in the encore)

Badlands

Last to Die

Living in the Future

Long Walk Home

Marys Place

Radio Nowhere

the Promised Land

The Rising

the following songs were played on 5 or 6 of the nights:

Because the Night

She's the One

Tenth Avenue Freeze Out

Devils Arcade

Lonesome Day

Magic

No Surrender

But many of his best known songs didn't get aired that often:

Atlantic City (3 nights)

Jungleland (3 nights)

Thunder Road (3 nights)

The River (2 nights)

Blinded by the Light (once)

Bobby Jean (once)

I realise he may veer towards better known songs for a festival rather than his own audience but it will be interesting to see.

Following on from my last post, I think my dream set list for Glastonbury would be:

Tenth Avenue Freeze Out

Radio Nowhere

Glory Days

Lonesome Day

Because the Night

No Surrender

Thunder Road

Marys Place

Bobby Jean

Atlantic City

Magic

The Rising

Jungleland

Dancing in the Dark

Badlands

Rosalita

Born to Run

American and

...but I'm far from a completist and don't know quite a bit of his stuff so I'm sure there will be plenty who'll point out the classics I'm missing.

I think he will. Based on what he's doing at the moment (free downloads, Superbowl, golden globes and oscars) I think he's going for one more 'superstardom' go, and getting his set shown on the Beeb (providing it's a good one) would go a long way to showing a lot of casual watchers what he's about. And yea, that setlist would be immense ;) his version of because The Night is much better than Patti Smith's IMO

That always surprises me, because there are THOUSANDS of bootlegs on very prominent fan websites (Backstreets) which have been recorded at concerts and he does nothing. I think if Eavis is serious about getting him, he will bend over backwards to keep him happy, as it wouldn't look good for Eavis not to have his top act broadcast on the beeb.
