Ed209
I seem to remember hearing they are one of Michael Eavis' favourite bands and the one band he wished had played Glasto, http://www.nme.com/news/the-grateful-dead/41881 Well now's his chance. No doubt he'll be phoning their management after hearing about this. Not a fan myself but I'm sure Eavis would be up for a bit of self indulgence on this one. Would suit glasto as well
sifi
Jerry Garcia is dead, dude. That would be like Little Feat without Lowell George . Or Lizzy without Lynott.

eFestivals
Grateful Dead were meant to play Glastonbury in 1971, but didn't for some reason. So instead they contributed a whole 24 minutes and 6 seconds of track to the Glastonbury 1971 album (which is has been available on CD for a while). sifi
I guess they are touring under "The Dead", so it's a bit different anyhow. But point taken Sco77ie. I like a bit of the Dead, but I'm no Deadhead. I bow to your superior knowledge.

Martin Ashford
When I received the email from the Dead I immediately thought " Glastonbury? Europe?". It may well happen in which case I would have the cheesiest grin since Bruce Forsyth.
