glasto_mongrel_2008
Me too Right just checked with the mini-bus company and when I initially sent for a quote, I said it was a 14 seater we needed. It's actually a 16 seater but there is now 17 of us... so unsure what to do. They do a 16 seater which is £185 / 16 = £11.56 each which still still ok but we need 17 What's everyones thoughts? Get the mini-bus for 14 and just a normal local taxi for the other 3?
darrenbha
Mini bus plus cab sounds fine to me
rach333
Hi paul, minibus plus 1 sounds good.... you never know, you may end up with a few more ppl come the time
Paul ™
Although mini bus plus one normal taxi does seem the most likely not to draw too much attention. I vote for your idea Paul.
hombrederayo
bumping this back onto the 1st page to say that that sounds good Paul regarding the minibus. Looks like you'll be sorted for a lift on tuesday meesh! Although if it turns out you still need picking up, let me know. Darrenbha / Chocky - Ive just told rach333 to aim to get to Reading for midday-ish on the saturday. Thought to save you carrying booze/food you wanted on the bus/train to Reading Darren, it'd make sense to get that when you got here in my car, then we could head off around 2ish. Sound good to you guys?
darrenbha
Sounds superb mate, far better than lugging it all up on the train. i'll aim for 12 ish no problem, sensible starting time.
meesh
I'm already giving Super dooper Dry and her +1 a lift, but I have a decent sized car. I can pick you both up at the station. I can maybe squeeze two more in on Wednesday morning, with the probability of distributing luggage over a few other cars. maybe even just tying rucksacks to the top of the trolley on the roof. As Paul says though, come the day I'm sure every one staying the Tuesday night will get a lift to site. As for Monday though, I'm heading straight west to NE Hampshire

meesh
paul - I emailed camp site and questioned about putting everyone together and they replied "It looks as though your group have been put together anyway. But I must stress, we are part of the Tranquil Parks group, and normally do not accept group bookings. " we better be on our best behaviour, so just a quiet drink

scudetto_boy
Probably wasn't a good idea doing that, I had already asked that and they said no.. don't want them canceling any bookings

meesh
It will be a pleasure meesh. 2:40 sounds just about right, if Superdrys bus gets in around the same time, hopefully we'll all drive to the campsite together, if not, two trips wont be a bother for me. We'll exchange mobile numbers and confirm arrangements nearer the day.
Paul ™
Excellent have added you to the Really now need to get the finger out and book the mini-bus. Not sure what to do, as there is 17 of us. Guess the most sensible choice is what I suggested and book the 14 seater that I was quoted £160 and book 1 taxi for the other 3 people. Just trying to keep it as cheap and as simple as possible but is proving difficult As I said they do have an 16 seater for £185 but that leaves us a seat short, or they have a 24 seater which is £235 but too big... arghhh why is things so bloody awkward On the Old Oaks situation, who has booked their pitch? darrenbha
Sorry been away from this thread for a while due to my limited access, believe i'd already responded though paul. on the old oaks question booked for me hombrederayo and chocky
hombrederayo
you booked a 2nd pitch for chocky as well Darren? Or is that in our pitch. I thought it was 2 people per pitch at old oaks that was all. Dont forget there is also Rach333 in my car too! Paul, I thought I replied about the minibuses too and Im sure I said that the 1st option ( 14 seater that I was quoted £160 and book 1 taxi for the other 3 people) was ok, if I didnt, then apologies. If you need someone else to take ownership of the booking of the taxis, then let me know and I can do it. Let us know all the details so I can give them to the taxi company to book it. Hope I dont need to give too much of a deposit though!
darrenbha
2 pitches booked. have spare room in my tent so certainly your pitch is for 2 also so rach333 can share yours if thats the way it works out, both are booked for 2 people as booked to sort chocky out later, don't know if that makes sense reading it back
shiveringsky
Sorry Paul, I hadn't seen this thread awhile. Didn't mean to taket the p*ss. We're happy with whatever is most convenient for people, which Im guessing is the 1st option. Let me know if we can help sort things out at all. Hom, if you do take over, just pm me if you need us to transfer/paypal you over any money for the deposit.
