I take exception to this comment that people who aren't old enough don't know much of faith no more so saying they're not big enough. I saw them several times first time round and don't think they're big enough

To be honest. I can't see FNM headlining Download. Second on the bill or heading the second stage at most. They haven't been around for 10 years for starters. I will be disappointed if they get headlining spot after all the hype.

But when it had the Limp Bizkit reunite thread up on the kerrang website it quoted "We have another special announcment coming up later this week" (regarding Bizkit being announced on the Download line up).

It didn't have that for the FNM report. Just that they will be playing festivals this summer. So it could be sonisphere.

But headling second stage at download would be my bet.

I love the way people are going on about FNM not being big enough to headline as if the DL headliners are usually big exclusive bands. They're not! FNM would be a stronger draw and bigger contender than Def Leppard I think. And certainly light years away from MCR Offspring and lostprophets!!

I love how everyone keeps comparing them to last years headliners and MCR. Last years headliners were obviously a budget cut so they could save and get bigger bands this year.

I would rather see def leppard than FNM. Everyone has their own opinions and I can't see them headlining. I didn't say they weren't big enough I just thinking that a countdown for FNM is over hyping.

So I will say again. FNM will not be headlining. If they do i hope they put a s*** hot band on second stage.

Yeah I did read last year that 08 was a year to save. Obviously the festival itself isn't bringing in the mega bucks yet and I think they've probably got a decent buisness plan on the go now.

I would say that Kiss cost them far more then anything that they've announced so far this year due to Gene Simmons love of the almighty doller.

But please,do name me these ''bigger'' bands.

I'm sure on the official forums the Mod gave the figures of pay Kiss got and it was considerabily cheaper than a lot of other bands who had headlined previously.

Slipknot and def leppard are just as big as KISS and they are both alot bigger than offspring and lostprophets. As for Limp Bizkit having a huge cheque?Why would the promoter's bother pandering to Durst's ego?Their star fell years ago and they couldn't even sell out Finsbury Park with a free gig when they were at the height of their fame.If Durst has wrangled a high appearance fee for Download then the promoters are mugs with no buissness savvy what so ever.

I think Slipknot's cheque would be bigger than Lostprophets as Slipknot have had a successful arena tour at the end of last year. Not all of them sold out as the back of the seating at sheffield was empty. But I think they are larger/bigger than LP. And I'm a fan of both bands but without any tattoos of them

I've heard from someone with very good sources that Faith No More are confirmed.

edit: no Jim Martin and don't know whether they are the third headliner or not.

Ok,although i find that very sketchy that an official from the promoters would give out that sort of private information i'll believe you.

Still,name me the ''bigger bands'' that people are talking about from this years line up as to me Download is like the festival that time forgot.The line up is so out of date i can't imagine anyone being that pricey.

have just come off my holidays to the news that faith no more are actually coming back f**king quality after it got teased and then looked like it wasn't gonna happen, with the way the lineup's going i might just pop the download cherry this time round.

Says that at the bottom of the interview with them. They've done this with limp bizkit et al so im predicting they are nailed on to be the headliner.
