hotels near glastonbury festival

I know - almost every1 thinks I'm mental for not camping. We r taking the tent as well so might camp some of the time. If not it's somewhere to leave change of clothes etc during the day!!

Although it does mean I've got somewhere to go thats nice and clean to shower and sleep if it gets bad at the festival. Someone on another forum said one year he went to glastonbury it would have been more practical to sleep in a boat than a tent lol, just depends what the weather does if I've done the right thing or not!!

hey Chocscoffer -

Lol!!!!!

I know I know - the plan is to take the tent and put it up to put stuff in during the day and stay in one or two nights (maybe), my brother is going as well so he will stay in it more than the b and b prob!!

Also we have the option of staying up all night, getting the shuttle back to the hotel for breakie at 8am, getting couple hours kip then heading back to the festival!!!! So it won't dull the experience too much I hope lol!! I just feel safer having a refuge to get clean and sleep if I need it!!

But if it does dull the experience for me - by all means please feel free to say " I told you so!!!"

:rolleyes::D

I do.

Why would anyone purposefully divorce themselves from many of the things that make Glastonbury different and special (ie the nights)? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Surely the point of the festival should be "whatever makes you happy" - if you say people HAVE to camp, then you're rather dogmatic about what should be an independent and personal experience.

camp, hotel, tipi, hole in teh ground, helicopter, whatever.

Tent nazis! :P

I hear ya, I do. I don't think I'd enjoy the festival as much if camping and getting a bit muddy and so forth wasn't part of the experience.

I do agree that it's part of the whole idea of 'disappearing' into a field and popping out the other end five days later like a startled rabbit going "Whoa, that was great! Where am I again? Oh no, not reality..."

But if people prefer hotels, that's their mojo really. Different strokes and all that.
