Best Glastonbury year ever

2003, my first one (been every year ever since!)

Flaming lips, followed by radiohead was indeed awesome. Stood at the top of the hill in front of the pyramid stage with loads of fires burning with 80,000 singing along to fake plastic trees.

Plus Jimmy Cliff in the sunshine on the saturday afternoon, doves closing the other stage on the sunday night, the roots in the dance tent, delgados in the new bands tent, could go on and on and on.

good times

Nothing will beat '08 for me as it was my first Glasto and also (partly) my 18th!

It was absolutely amazing and after years of hesitance I finally agreed to go with my Dad and I obviously don't regret one inch of going cos Part 2 starts this year round the 20th June (Dads Bday)!!

Fantastic!

For me, it'd be one of 1999 (Orbital at the Jazz World Stage blew my mind, even though I'd seen them a handful of times before), 2004 (knowing that it was Orbital's last ever English festival appearance, and loving every minute of the weekend, in spite of the mud), or 2008 (which was the year that got closest to the feeling of 1999 for me -- also the first, and so far obviously only, year that I camped).

Roll on 2009. :-D

2002 had Faithless, and they were the best thing ever.

But in 2003 we took my little sis for her first one, she was a seven week old grublet and it was lovely to be in my favourite place with her. And she had the good fortune to meet M.E. who thought she was very cute (a huge blessing in my religion!)

Plus... R.E.M, Radiohead, Electric 6, Flaming Lips, Jimmy Cliff, KOL in the new band tent... and I seem to remember enjoying Moby a great deal.

Well, 92 was my first so will always be special. 95 was awesome for the weather, and the group of people I was with. 2000 was great for the sheer mentalism of it all. 2003 for the previously mentioned Flaming Lips/Radiohead lineup. 2008 for the return of the sun. Basically, as is fairly obvious I can't decide ;)

86 and 87 were my first and were very happy times.. I then had a gradual dip until I hit a maybe 3 year stretch of less good ones (was due to a good friend who wasn't enjoying it)... then a big surge back up and hitting a level plateau of superbness ever since!
