Maybe headlining the NME stage, but I can't see him anywhere else. Outside of The Smiths he's nowhere near as much of a draw (or as good IMO)

He's much bigger than some people think. His tour sold out amazingly quickly and he's always been revered as a classic (although also, somehow, hated).

Headlining NME maybe, but could possibly pull 3rd or 2nd from top.

he could easily play 2nd from top, i'm a massive fan and agree he was average in 2004 but saw him at wireless last year and his live show has improved dramatically since 2004. Cant see him playing nme stage after the incident last year with the magazine

when he was announced in 2004, he hadnt released a single or an album in seven eyars and was touring sporadically in fairly small venues

since he played hes had a no.1 and no.2 album, a live album/dvd, 9 singles, with only 1 not in the top 20 and including 3 top 10s, the best chart performance hes had as a solo artist. he's also headlined wireless, benicassim, v festival and played something like 10 nights at the hollywood bowl. not to mention curating the meltdown festival and turning down ludicrous amounts to reform the smiths

he was also asked to write britains song for eurovision and involved in a pretty public row about racism allegatinos witht he nme which was reported extensively in pretty much every UK newspaper. he also has a new album coming out next month, and the tour for it sold out in 30 minutes.

but yeah, apart from that hes pretty much faded into obscurity hasnt he?!

errr mate he's a musician. if you really believe bad press lowers a musicians profile then youre an idiot plain and simple. with the exception of extreme cases i.e gary glitter, bad press tends to have the opposite effect.......

fact is morrissey has more than maintained his profile since 04 (i like how you didnt respond to the sales figures or concert appearances!) and you are clutching at straws
