There's a new version of Spinal Tap called The Anvil - they are making a film or just finished one - they are rumoured to be playing Glastonbury.

The difference being with Anvil is they were/are a real band who supposedly inspired many of the heavy metal bands that went on to make it big time. Metal on Metal is one of the ones people may have heard - "lips" is seen in the film playing his guitar with a dildo but this really happened at one of their gigs (and I know it doesnt sound like much of a stunt compared to other things people have done since) and wasnt staged for the film.

Darren (OH)who grew up in Canada loved them at the time and thats what got him and his brother into Heavy Metal when they arrived in this country as teenagers. The band member seem really sweet (not very rock and roll and I do feel a little sorry for their long suffering families!) and they have never given up on it.
