errm, no its not, i totally disagree.

why do people speculate so much and read all the rumour sites if nobodies worried.

it should be announced asap tbh, i've spent months wondering and i'm sure many other people have too, i like to know whos playing because if an older band or a band i havnt heard of sound interesting and are playing a bigger slot, i like to be able to listen to alot of their music before i go to see them.

announcing the lineup in june doesnt really give me a chance to do that.

now would be good :O

There are alot of politics involved. Promotors will would ask that no announcements be made until their own concert tickets have been sold.

Artists who play Glastonbury do not get huge ammounts of money like other festivals and play becuase they want to, so not too much to ask for to let their own gigs sell out before anything is announced I guess.

It all adds to the excitement anyway, the not knowing, guessing, looking on forums for hints is all part of the build up.

All the tickets are sold out now so why wait till June. Its not like suddenly announcing say Led Zepellin are headlining is going to make it sell more, we're a captive audience now so we might as well be told who's playing.

because its mostly been this way especially before the days of the internet when you could just walk into a hmv store and buy your tickets

i would say that most of us old timers go to glasto not for the music but for the whole experiance of the festival.

no one makes you buy your tickets before you know who,s playing but the whole essence of the festival is that its not just that important

The fact they announced Franz Ferdinand, The Ting Tings and Major Major is good enough. If you're that paranoid about headlining acts then its surprises me you got tickets in the first place. I'd like to have announcement about any changes to the site and all that kind of stuff but I wont cry like a baby if I don't get it for a few months. We pretty much know the headliners anyway..

I like to have the lineup as soon as possible. There are bound to be lots of artists I'm unfamiliar with, and it's a great opportunity to listen to their music so that I can vaguely plan who to see and where to be. I'm not fond of all music tastes.

It's also good to work out the worst clashes before hand.

I find that once onsite , there are many more interesting things to do than to read the programme! I end up getting distracted every time I try to read it. Much rather do the reading before I'm on site, so that I can enjoy more of the Glasto experience.

I know this is probably a personal decision, but I don't see why too much information is bad. If you don't want to know who's on until you are there, then don't read it!
