BUMP

Every one Welcome for a few pints...

12 Noon on Thursday at the Red Flag

(Located just in side the Acoustic Field on the left)

It can be a pre drinks drink, before moving down to the cider bus later.

Pretty sure they had that at Red Flag last year as well. I never got round to trying it, each time I went to the bar I came back with Otter Ale, twas too good to waste time trying anything else! Think I'll have an Otter free day this year when i'll give the others a go.

I was at Wychwood last weekend drinking 'Old Hoggy' - very nice but rather potent, had me dancing like a proper crazy person in the silent disco at the end of the night :P

Good call, has been on my list to bump this for a while now ;)

Was in Sainsbury's earlier, good selection of canned ale (that was hard for me to write!) including the ubiquitous Old Speckled, but also Greene King IPA and Abbot, Ruddles, several of the main Badger beers - Tanglefoot, err, can't remember what else. Anyway, a reasonable selection. I reckon a mix of Greene King IPA and Tanglefoot could be the answer.

I still havent decided whether to get ale/bitter in cans, or just a load of lager, as you can generally get larger crates of lager....hmmm.

I am def coming to the real ale bar on the thursday at noon though.

Will be dragging my mate along on Thursday - hopefully the appeal of real ale will entice him though :D Has anyone been able to locate bigger multi-packs than 8 cans (& I can only find Old Speckled Hen in packs of 8) Would prefer to finding the likes of Greene King IPA or even Abbot if there is a God?!

I can handle one or two pints of real ale as a lunchtime chug, but if I'm looking to fill my boots then it has to be strong, mass produced, fizzy lager or cider. Strongbow or Heineken. I guess thats why they've spent millions on research and development to produce a drink that can be taken in vast quantities. Yes they're bland for a one or two pint drink but if I'm going for good old fashioned English binge drinking then bland is good. I realise this is probably the view of a philistine.

After 4 pints of Broadside I feel like I'm chewing my way through a pint.

TIP FOR REAL ALE LOVING GLASTOBATERS!

Tesco currently has Fursty Ferret, Hobgoblin and Old Speckled Hen in cans on offer - 2 four-packs for £8. That actually pretty good value - I just bought my festival supplies (and I'll buy them again next week when I've accidentally drunk them all and need to replace them....)
