Shout if you love Real Ale

The secret is to ask for a taster before having a pint of anything, which any ale pub will be more than happy to provide. I prefer lighter or golden ales, IPAs etc, not so keen on darker maltier stuff, stouts or porters. Also start with your lighter beers in terms of alcohol.. have a few pints of 3.X% beer first before working your way up to the 4.X and above. Anything 6% or above should be reserved to the end of the night otherwise you won't be able to taste anything else! Remember it's about the flavour, and if a brewery can make a beer that tastes great yet is only 3.5% ABV, then great!

Well at least I got a reponse from Kipr who i feel has been stalking these parts for a while now!

I did indeed mean my friends from manchester who are partial to taking many slabs of fosters to festivals.

When it comes to Kipr and Howl, i can vouch for them and class them as purveyors of the finest quality ale. Apologies all round chaps and i hope i can repair relationships with a drop of wherry when we arrive :P

quality thread. we had a similar one on discussions that I think langdale wolf started.

from that I now know about the real ale tent near the acoustic stage which I didnt know about.

If any real-ale drinkers are gonna be camping at , or you just fancy a few bevvies at this tent, let me know.

I'm planning on camping at the red triangle camp, and I'm definately up for a pint at the bar near the acoustic stage, last year there was a great selection.

i went to that bar and didn't find that many real ales. in fact i don't remember seeing a lot of real ales anywhere (incomparison to all the cider and larger).

BUMP

Well I propose to move the meeting back 24 hours, how about...

12 Noon on Thursday at the Red Flag

It can be a pre drinks drink, before moving down to the cider bus later.

Please count me in as one of the few and far between females on this sunny jaunt. Just dont allow me a repeat of last year when after trying of many tasty ales on the Friday, it all backfired when I suffered from a rather nasty bout of dehydration at 2am at Shangri La. (Tis a very cheap high I can tell you but not recommended!)

I suggest we gather en masse and then attempt to 'taste' every ale along the entire barrel run! :D I mean tipples not pints btw!

Bring on the 2009 Glastonbury Beer, Cider and Food Festival! :D
