If Madonna was to ever play Glastonbury it would sell out straight away because a ticket to the o2 arena show cost almost as much as a Glastonbury ticket.

Spotted this on See Tickets too, while idly wondering what was going on sale this morning.

Cheapest tickets £110?! It's like: "Credit crunch? What credit crunch?"

Putting aside the fact my personal opinion of Madonna (I wouldn't pay a tenner), it's just blatant, rampant profiteering. Bet she mimes too.

That's disgusting I agree. However you also need to factor in the change in the strength of the pound on this, and look at what change has happened against the dollar of late. Compare the dollar price with the dollar price of her last gigs over here, and the jump won't seem as high I suspect.

edit : Right, I've checked it out. I've used August 2006 shows at Wembley Arena as a starting point. I found a link that says the cheapest dollar price ticket at those shows was 149 dollars, ninety four cents. This tours she's charging 110 pounds, which with the strengthened dollar equates to 159 dollars.

So they are ten dollars - or about seven quird - more expensive than two eighteen monts ago.

For the nearly the same price as a Glastonbury ticket, loads of cool bands, 5 days entertainment, you're getting to see a middle aged woman cavort round the the O2 in her knickers like some ropey old pole dancer. Still It will sell out I've no doubt, there's enough saddo's and wierd uber-fans stupid enough to spend that sort of dosh on her.

Yeah, but the cost of hiring the o2 is in £s. I know she's now f**ked off back stateside, but having lived in England for the last decade i imagine the majority of her production crew and dancers are all london based so get payed in pounds. All her kit for the o2 gig and production costs will be in pounds, so the dollar conversion is misleading in my opinion.

She's just a money grabbing slag who has shown zero respect for her UK based fans and the country she made her home for a large portion of her career. Disgusting behaviour.
