Muse

I see no chance of a Muse abum coming out in September, this is just pure speculation. I haven't seen any previews of the album in 'most anticipated albums of 09' style lists on the web or in magazines, and I haven't really heard anything about it on music sites or forums. The only thing the band has said about a release is that they want it to be ready for the end of the year but there was a good chance it wont be out till next year, and this was a while ago.

Therefore I don't see them playing Reading and Leeds this year, or next year for that Matter. I think they will be at Download or Glastonbury before they come back to Reading and Leeds.

only way i could see muse headlining is quite simply if FR were really struggling for headliners (which even as things are i highlydoubt they would be) and they put an awful lot of money muse's way.

but saying that even if they did there would be next to chance of any new songs which would mean a setlist near identical to reading 06's or wembleys, i just don't see it.

It is possible. Massive Muse fan here and I've read the interview in question a few times. I can't be bothered to find it right now but it definitely says saying something along the lines of 'we are aiming to bring out the album sometime this year but if it takes us until 2010 to make sure it is ready then we will do that.'

EDIT: Just found it (It would be nice to have the album out in the second half of next year but we have not set ourselves any targets. It is more important for us to make the best album we have made to date and if that means it comes out in 2010 then we don’t mind. Hopefully it will be sooner though. Chris.)

That was a few months ago and then in the last week their record company has announced it should be out in September of this year. It is also being reported that they have started booking gigs in France in November. This could be a one off but it could also be a part of a World or European Tour. August might be a little early for them but you never know.

I think its definitely unlikely given that it was only 3 years ago since they last played but I don't think lack of new material is definitely a reason to rule them out. If FR really are struggling for a third headliner then Muse could be a pretty safe option. Very popular and put on a pretty spectacular live show.

zahid, you were going on about unoriginal headliners in another thread when it was set to be Arctic Monkeys, KoL and Green Day, now you are wanting muse to play. Bit hypocritical. They did V last year it'd just be the same bands rotating festivals it's boring.

from microcuts which is normaly quite reliable

"Warner decided to release the new yet-to-be-named album in September 2009. An european tour should follow in fall."

I for one am realy hope they play it would make my weekend but obviously other peoples opinions are different but would be a good opertunity for them to get backinto touring mode before the new album
