Worst moment: Probably when i got so pissed off with my 15 year old cousin that i pocked him in the eye, REALLY hard! He then decided to run off on me and f**ked the whole night up! Well, for like 30 mins anyway! It was his 16 brithday the next day and i think he was a little excited and was bein a proper norse! Me being 18 had to be a bit more sensible when he was with me.

First 1994

Best bit - waking up on the first morning and just going wow, amazed at the sea of tents

Worst bit - realising that bringing a canvas 4 man frame tent and lugging it by myself all the way was NOT a good idea

Latest 2008

Best bit - managing to stay up all night, I'd wanted to do that for years

Worst bit - picking the one morning of the festival when the sun didn't actually rise!!

2008

Best: Sitting round the campfire at , Watching sunrise Mon Morn at Stone Circle, Bouncing round Bassline Circus somtime Fri night/Sat Morn, Tug Of War in Avalon, Frank Turner in Avalon, Groove Armada on the Other Stage and lots more giggles. I can't a fave best moment!

Worst: Spending all day wednesday waiting for everyone to arrive instead of wandering around the site exploring.

First - 2000

Best:

Realising what I'd just discovered - a city full of like minded people. And realising Counting Crows were playing. And dancing like a loon to heroes by Bowie.

Worst:

FAR too many twats that year for my liking - saw lots of random fights and tent tramplers - hardly inkeeping with the Glasto spirit. :)

Last - 2008

Best:

Being the PERFECT level of drunk (and continuing on the Brothers) during the MAGNIFICENT Buddy Guy set. Also, Seasick Steve's set with a frothing cup of ale. Oh and Elbow. Oh, and dancing with randoms to Tunng up at the Park.

Worst:

Feeling pretty crap on the Friday (ill and possible comedown), coinciding with the rain, though I also felt awful as I left the site, knowing it would be at LEAST 2 years before I could return.

2008:

Best: Getting about 15 Aussies together for Crowded House and ignoring the fact they're Kiwis.

Worst: The queue for international ticket pickup on the Wednesday. FIVE HOURS. Even ME came out to see what all the trouble was. We'd drank most of our booze and... well the Irish were getting rowdy.

Best:- So many… but has to be first time on mushrooms in glorious weather in spacious campsite, bought from a couple of blokes who were hawking them round the tents. Enjoyed them so much we bought some more a little while later from a girl that looked like Margi Clark who was also hawking them round the campsite. Forgot the original 2 blokes and when they came back to check how we were doing we got indignant with them saying we hadn’t bought mushrooms from them but from a girl that looked like Margi Clarke. They were laughing and congratulating themselves on selling us such effective hallucinatory mushrooms that we’d remembered them as Margi Clarke which made us more indignant…. And only remembering the true events much later!

Worst:- having to leave on the Monday.

Last - 2008

Best:- glowstick war at

Worst:- going back to tent on the Thursday night to sulk about the rain for an hour before the Levellers, falling asleep and waking up 2 hours later realising I’d missed them.

First 1986

Best

Realising at 14, me and my two mates had no boundaries and were able to do pretty much as we wanted for 4 days.

Worst

Paying for a bottle of Cider that turned out to be piss.

Last 2008

Best

Joan Armatrading at the Jazz world stage. I was pleasantly drunk, and she was the perfect act at the perfect time in the perfect weather.

Worst

Realising my daughter had forgotten her phone and the boy his Camera.

FIRST 1969 Shepton Mallet Folk and Blues Festival (that became Glasto in 1970). Nearly everyone from Woodstock, with the exception of Hendrix, was there.

BEST BANDS - so many but Brian Wilson doing God Only Knows (I cried), The Who (who showed the kids how to do it).

BEST MOMENT - When the tent is finally up, airbed inflated and everything in place, so that we can can down into 'town' to the Cider Bus and wander round and say we've arrived.

WORST/BEST MOMENT - When some bastard stole all my cigarettes with two days still to go. I now split my cigarette stock and hide them in different places so that if some go they won't all go. But then you forget where you've hidden them. When you suddenly find a spare packet in some forgotten hiding place you're rich!

BEST MOMENT - The horrendous flooding. After the storm had finally ended and the sun came out the spirit of people helping out those who'd lost everything was tremendous.

First - 2007

Best - a lad scooping up my muddy then 4yo & putting her on his shoulders for Babyshambles set at the Other stage (while I did the same with her sister). She was so happy, singing along to 'Pipedown' despite the mud & the cold. Was a random act of kidness which really made her festival.

Worst - waiting for the coach on Monday morning. It was early, freezing cold & we'd run out of warm / dry clothes.

Last - 2008

Best - Helsinki in the Guardian Lounge, with my kids sat on the carpet just in front of the stage.

Worst - going with friends who took far too much stuff - most of which wasn't needed - & had a much less relaxed approach than we did. We spent all of Sunday morning lugging stuff back to the car.

Worst: Trecking to Lost Vagueness to catch Madness. It took us nearly an hour and we stupidly forgot to take any booze with us. By the time we arrived Madness had finished, we were knee-deep in mud and suffering the onset of a hangover. We turned round to face the same journey all over again. I'll be praying for no mud every day until mid-June.

2007:

Best: Kasabian followed by the Arctic Monkeys on friday night, the rain had stopped and those 2 sets were electric.

Worst: Watching the who in the pissing rain from too fair back realising it was all over

2008:

Best: Watching the last shadow puppets while off my face on mdma and staggering over to the pyramid for jayz

Worst: Big arguement with my gf in the rain on thursday night

First: 1997

Best - Can't remember much, but what I do remember was Radiohead on the Saturday night. No Surprises with fireworks going off on the other side of the site. It was then I realised how fricken' huge the place was, and how this place was that little bit more 'special' than anywhere else. Hairs. Back of. Neck.

Worst - The weather. Nightmare! And some hippy nicking our last smoke, quite literally from my mouth!

Last: 2008

Best - Friday evening, fresh pint of ale in hand up at the acoustic stage - Sinead O Connor belting out Nothing Compares 2 U. Special moment. Coupled with the realisation that the weather had turned for the good for the rest of the weekend!

Worst - Leaving Manu Chao on the Sunday night to drive home. Wish I had decided to stay until the morning.

best Elbow last year.

worst arriving Thursday lunch and trekking about for close to 3hrs looking for a spot for our far to big tent nightmare. To make matters worse i did my knee in and my gf had a pair of the most inappropriate shoes possible and she moaned and moaned and f**king moaned. Ended up having a blazing row , but after having a very big bifter the world was at peace,

best...arriving on my own after a long, long walk from the old coach drop off point, down some very un-festival looking country lanes, wondering if i was going in the right direction, getting in, getting totally lost, spotting a large pointy thing, heading in that general direction and finding my mate Harry waiting for me on the right hand side of the pyramid stage sound desk, as planned!! it felt miraculous...as did the rest of the weekend.

worst...waking up from an unplanned doze in front of what used to be the NME stage to the very last chord of Mega City 4's set, which was the only band i had actively planned to see!!! gutted..

last - 2008

Best...Saturday night up at the park with my sister and other half and best friends. random shed sitting and chatting, hugging of captain caveman with the firewood, rum rum rum and to cap it all Battles - Atlas. Still gives me joy bumps all over!

worst...standing outside the levellers, in the pouring rain, and for the first time ever feeling truly miserable about it. totally lost my mojo and there was nothing to do about it but go to bed.

come on June!!!

First & Latest (not last) was 2008

Best Moment

Other than the initial 'OMG I'm here!'-ness of it, Billy Bragg, Guardian Tent, Saturday, doing an amazing set of songs about rain. Very, very special.

Worst Moment

First - 1997

Worst Moment

Not sure which night it was, but my mates and I got involved in a genuinely frightening crush in a crowd bottleneck, moving between the Main Stage and the markets. We were being forced forwards while our feet were rooted in (literally) knee deep mud. I remember thinking that if anyone fell over they would be f**ked - they would have just been trampled into the mud and no-one would even have noticed.

First:2005

Best: MY first night at the stone circle, sat with good friends having a laugh, chatting to complete strangers and having a really amazing time.

Worst: Having to carry my muddy gear home on the Monday, queuing ages for the bus and then missing the train home and being stuck in Bristol with no money... nightmare!!

Last:2008

Best: Seeing my best friends face light up more and more on the wednesday as we walked around the site, showing around.

Worst: Don't really have one, though i suppose the rain was a bit of a dampner, even though i have seen worst.
