The Accuweather forecast for Pilton looks pretty upbeat, bar a little shower on Sunday (which would certainly be tolerable):

Seems we're going to get some kind of weather at some point over the weekend, but hopefully nothing apocalyptic (*crosses fingers, knocks on wood*)

I checked Reuters last night and it had NO RAIN at all.

Now it's put Fri, Sat, Sun with some rain, showers or sprinkles!

Down to 8mm now. I don't trust Metcheck. They say almost no rain Friday now, and had it from 5mm to 0.8mm in the last 12 hours or so.

UK Outlook for Friday 26 Jun 2009 to Sunday 5 Jul 2009:

Through to the middle of next week the weather is expected to be largely fine and warm. Though there is the increasing threat of some heavy showers and thunderstorms. Especially over central and southern parts of the UK away from the East coast where there will be an onshore wind. The afternoon temperatures away from these eastern coastal areas are expected to be either warm or very warm, but perhaps even hot in places. Then as we move towards the middle of the second week the current indications are that the weather will turn more unsettled and less warm. Cloudier conditions with either showers or more prolonged rain are expected to spread to many areas at times. However, there are also likely to be some brighter periods mixed in.

6.5mm of rain is quite a heavy shower.

But, the (more reliable) NetWeather prediction from last night:

Very good confidence of the Wednesday to Friday being on the very warm side, with decent amounts of sunshine, wit a small chacne of showers into the evening, especially on the Friday.

The ensembles are very keen to introducing the potentially wet and thundery weather over the continent at the end of next week over the UK for the weekend, but the operational runs keeps this over the continent, with only the rogue shower here. Whichever of these is correct would have a big difference on the end of the festival, due to this uncertainty I am keeping the rating at 6 (1=Washout, 10=Heatwave), however if the operational forecast was translated to the ensembles over the next couple of days, I would raise the score to 7 or 8.

- Remember Jackone at NetWeather is using all the models plus personal experience whereas Metcheck is one model regurgitated by a machine.

The weather is really confusing me now i thought i was on for for my best weather yet in 5 years!!... now im not convinced

So from when i started going...

2004 - Good start, fairily hot till friday then a load of rain and teh site turnd into a mess probably a 6

2005 - HUGE amouunt of rain on thursday night turning the site really big mess but decent weather after it id say a 5 (only becase the storm turned the site into a mess all week!)

2007 - Just awful.. rain all week , 1-2!

2008 - Best one yet , fairly warm but still heavy rain on thursday night/fri morning probably a 6.5-7ish?

2009 - Someone please tell me at the very least its going to be better than all these years!

2007 Thursday was bad, but not awful, whereas 2005 saw crazy amounts. 2005 saw about 60mm in a couple of hours. I've never seen anything like it.
