JameSemajj
I'm not trolling, i'm expressing an opinion. You orginally started this off... I orginally said i wanted it to rain, and suddenly i get personal attacks, stop being a catalist! Edited June 17, 2009 by JameSemajj
Tenner Huey
I suggest you pop on 'http://dictionary.reference.com/' when you have a spare minute and look up the word 'mate' i'm afraid ive never met you Anyway, i don't want to start flamming, i just want it to start raining at Glastonbury! William of Walworth
See my /index.php?s=&showtopic=114131&view=findpost&p=2849671">post 1727 and stop stirring please. I've been accused of posting unreliable information, even when I've offered frequent health warnings about the value of forecasts, and even when I've frequently stated that forecasts can change, can go down as well as up. To do that is the shitstirring of a blatant troll in my book. Characterising blatantly inflammatory, out and out trolling as a mere difference of opinion and as bravely, independent-mindedly standing up against the some invented 'party line' or against some imagined dull monothought clique also smacks a little of trolling too IMO .... JameSemajj
But you've also said (I'm paraphrasing) you don't believe weather forecasts that far in advance are remotely accurate, so it seems a bit odd to then say it looks like it's going to rain based on one of those long range forecasts. Anyway, sorry, trying not to get involved....for the record Radiohead are my favourite band
JameSemajj
Maybe you should pop over there too and look up 'flaming' Glad you've not denied the point of my post though.
Peevis
Old Uncle Joe was pretty good at misrepresenting his opponents opinions I believe ... . I see you've learnt very well from the Master . Do read post 1727 and see where I AGREE with one part of JameSemajj's opinions in an earlier post .... And for your information, the cobwebbed line, 'So, anyone with an opinion different to yours is a troll?' or similar, is a very old internet meme, and has been for years. One much favoured by deniers that trolls ever exist, too. I'm sure you know this.
William of Walworth
Anyway, I always thought the percieved wisdom of the great man Eavis himself was, just a little rain to keep the dust down. he lives there, is a farmer, and is cooler than all of us put togther, really trying. So I'm with Eavis! Whatever it is he says, is right.

Conrax
I think someone or some people have just had a bad day and need to calm down. This thread wasn't created for arguing about the stupid weather and who likes the rain!! It's just abit of fun debating what the weather may turn out like over the festival period. So everyone just chill the hell out!
JameSemajj
fair enough, I like it alot, but nothing compared to glastonbury of course!
Peevis
Eavis has just a little bit of wrongness about him on that particular thing, IMO (May Eavis spare me for disconcurring!!) When he wants 'a little bit of rain to damp the dust down', he's in danger of not being very carefull what he wishes for. Note 2005, plenty of dust there before Thursday night. Then come Friday morning .....

Are we still likely to have a warm and dry Festival folks or are we gonna have a wet one ? Many Thanks Dave
Petewasbristol
Its a week away and it is probably raining the hardest I have seen this year in Bristol right now!! Hey, better to have soft ground to put the pegs in right
Aragorn
No time to check and search for this right now, but that sounds right. He was giving a 4 (or even a 3.5) until VERY close to the 2008 festival, the upgrades to 6 were late late late ... Now, we would be disappointed if he DOWNgraded to 6. But the late changes last year just go to show that yiour forecasts can go up as well as down, and down as well as up, so stay nervous right to the wire folks ... scorp
be prepared for a downgrade, the 12z has once again bought back the low and shows rain for the week-end. its going to be a rollercoaster ride from now until next week when the models decide how they want to handle things

RikSpur
Met Office: UK Outlook for Monday 22 Jun 2009 to Wednesday 1 Jul 2009: The weather during the last week or so of June is expected to be dominated by high pressure. This will mean plenty of fine, dry and sunny conditions, especially for central and southern areas, but these should affect the rest of the UK to some extent. Winds will be mostly light, leading to cooling sea breezes on many coasts. However, the high pressure is expected to gradually decline away to the northeast near the end of the month, and showers may develop across some southern and southeastern parts of England. Fine and dry conditions with spells of sunshine should continue though across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures will be generally warm or very warm, especially across inland central and southern Britain at first, then tending towards western Britain later.
