If Michael Eavis gave you a budget to organise a new area of the festival...

I had a dream the other day that Eavis gave me 20k to organise my own area of the festival, in the same vein Emily Eavis does with The Park.

So what would you all do if given the chance?

My area would be completely mindblowingly fun. I'd try to give it a carnival type atmosphere with all sorts of shiz going on at once. I'd probably have one of those lorry-come-stages where the bands play inside the lorries. I'd also have a small section with traditional funfair rides for children. I'd also have a 50s style diner themed tent with an old fashioned huge jukebox. Theyd serve smoothies 24/7 (perfect for hangovers ). I would try to have little quirky things dotted about like random objects, modern art and funky seats. Oh and a hall of mirrors for the lulz! It would be the perfect family field... in fact the perfect field! Music, places to eat, fairground attractions for the kids, hall of mirrors (lol for all) and just general happiness going on. There would also be a small campsite nearby for those who adore my field the most. ME please make this happen

ANYWAY, what would you all have in your field?

I would call it The Big Chill

There would be a large matted area where you enter and take off your boots/shoes. Once inside there would be a MASSIVE area in which to sit down and relax. Lots of giant bean bags, rugs, carpets and benches.

There would be entertainment to soothe and relax

Out back there would be a giant pool of balls (just like when you were a kid) and a big foam padded area to hang out in a smoosh into. Lots of nice lighting and all totally weather proofs.

On the door would be some insecurity guards who will be there to offer hugs and smiles.

And now for the controversial bit: I would charge £2 entrance. 90% of this would go to local charities. Once inside you can refresh yourself with as much fruit juices as you please.

Mine would be quite simple. There would be a set of wooden stocks in one corner, and over the weekend Razorlight, the Stereophonics, Scouting for Girls and The Feeling would each spend time in the stocks.

You, as the lucky punter of course get the opportunity to throw all manner of rotten fruit and veg at them. Winner, I think so?

Great thread, I love reading it Joshuwarr.

I would move the Cider bus, the Brothers bar and the Red Flag Bar (great Real Ale bar) into one of the biggest big top dome tents you can get.

This would cut out all the sunlight (not to mention rain) and so would be decorated with loads of fairy lights and glow spheres.

The tent would be so big there will a few trees and bushes in there as well. There would be lots of old wood barrels for tables and straw bales to sit and lounge on.

The DJ controlling the music would be telepathic! Always knowing just the right tunes to please the crowd.
