hallamboy
Having made the decision not to come to Glasto this year (see: /index.php?showtopic=113794&st=0&p=2597672&#entry2597672)">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...;#entry2597672), to go to Germany for different bits and pieces, a bad thing seems to be looming on the horizon. Yesterday's announcement for Hard Rock Calling has sent a shiver down my spine. One of my all time favourite bands is The Dave Matthews Band, are down to support Bruce at Hyde Park which leads me to believe that they might do Glasto as well. They don't play in Europe very often, and it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to come over just for one gig. The next thing they are down for is a few weeks later in Lisbon. I could be wrong, but I have a funny feeling that the Jazz World stage is going to be blessed with DMB, and I won't be there And won't be able to go to Hyde Park either This is a glasto nightmare. The last time they played the was '95 and was first thing on Friday or Saturday morning, this would be a much bigger and better experience. So if they announced please watch them because you will not regret it, and think of me when you are dancing away to Ant Marching.

Sipperana
That's about right. Perfectly pleasant to listen to, but pretty undistinctive. One of those bands I could never imagine anyone citing as their favourite band, see also Hootie and the Blowfish, Regular Fries, Gin Blossoms etc etc... alframsey
I love the Dave Matthews Band. I hope they play Glasto!
hallamboy
I think they're a mid ninties ultra bland adult American pop/rock band. I could be wrong though? Edited February 11, 2009 by hallamboy

jackthebassist
Cheers Jack, did you go to Wembley when they played? A great show! I'm going to keep an eye on other gigs that they might do around Europe and see if I can get to one of them. Enjoy um at Hyde Park, and with Bruce that is a great night. hallamboy
Nah unfortunately I missed that gig, which is why I'm even more excited about Hyde Park. Before it was announced me and my mate sorted a trip to Dublin to see Bruce at the RDS, so now I'm gonna be seeing him twice as well! It's gonna be great. I'm sure DMB will hit other places in Europe, they are playing Optimus Alive Festival in Portugal, I know that much.
hallamboy
It looks like my theory could prove to come to pass! The font of all knowledge on all things DMB (antsmarching.org) is suggesting that they could be at Glasto. http://www.antsmarching.org/news/story.php?NewsID=
