I saw ' a ' but I should have watched ' b '

I missed Elbow for Roni Size last year. Great though Roni was, it was a decision mainly made on my intake of "sundries" rather than on merit.

My worst one of these was Reading 96 though. The jaw dropping awfulness of the Stone Roses on the main stage when Underworld were on in the tent. The smug look on my friends faces who made the right choice will never be forgotten.

missed Leonard Cohen cause I was coming up. should have gone anyway. can't remember who i saw instead (was either The Whip or Eddie Grant)

I don't particularly like Elbow, but I saw Band of Horses instead (whose first album I loved) and they were one of my biggest ever Glasto disappointments. Really lazy self-indulgent stoned performance, off-key, etc etc

I'd have liked to have seen Dizzee Rascal as well. All in all, though, last year was pretty good for clashes.

I wish I'd have seen the chemical brothers instead of the who in 07. The who weren't bad, but from what I heard from my mates and the footage I saw, The Chems were absolutely mesmerising.

The same year, my mates turned up at the other stage eagerly expecting the manics only to realise that they'd turned up for mika instead, while the manics were on the pyramid.

"big girls you are beautiful" instead of "under neon loneliness, motorcycle emptiness"

mine would have to be last year, going to see reverend and the makers in the leftfield (which was awesome btw) instead of seeing jayz (not that i like jayz, just that it was a legendary moment and everyone i say "i went to glasto last year" to always the first thing they say is "did u see jayz?" bloody annoying! :(

In 2007 I stupidly found myself at the wrong side of the Pyramid field when Amy Winehouse was on (Saturday afternoon). I stayed to watch some of her set out of morbid curiosity, mindful of the fact that I wanted to be in the Acoustic tent to see the Dylan Project. By the time left and fought my way through the crowd and the mud to get there, I only got to see about 15 minutes :(

Rod Stewart/Air 2002.

I felt I made the wrong choice too but unlike everyone else here I chose Air. I saw the first 3 or four Songs of Rod, then the majority of Air (maybe all of their set, I certainly remember the start of the Encore) then ran back and caught the end of Rod. I thought he put on a true show. Exciting, carnival like and was a brilliant close to the weekend with 100,000 people swaying and chanting "Sailling". Air may have looked good on telly but at that time on a Sunday when you have been partying like never before and you know you will only see one more major that weekend I think you need something a bit cheery and dare I say it, cheesy. Muse were a great energetic close but often I find the Sunday headliners don't fit the mood of the final day of a hard weekend. Kylie would have fun for example in 2005(?).

As for Killers and Iggy... I made the same mistake as many in thinking the Killers would be a good show. After a fantastic firework display I felt they walked on and the mood (and sound/volume output) sank and after 3 or 4 songs I dashed to see Iggy. I saw one song and then there was the stage invasion which took so long to sort out. 1 song later I heard Lost Vagueness a callin'. I managed (somehow) to make it up there just in time for Madness (it was a long, fast and busy dash to have made it from the back of the Pyramid to LV in such a short time and to have seen Iggy on route). Having seen bits of the 2 main headline acts I can safely say that Madness was the right choice of the 3.

1. ozomatli instead of muse! IDIOTS

none of my mates wanted to see muse so I decided to stay with the crowd instead of going to it on my own and go to the dance tent for ozomatli.. only to find out that they had been moved to the jazz world stage! therefore we ended up walking half the night and saw a handfull of songs. BIG MISTAKE.. HUGE

2. We left the Arctic Monkeys after 3 songs to go and find hot chip in the JP tent. It was horrendous and we left after 2 songs to go back to the tent - passing a brilliant sounding Bjork. Looking back we should have gone to Bjork.

As soon as I saw the thread title I knew I wouldn't be the only one who made the Oasis V Chems mistake.

I had seen The Chems many times already but never seen Oasis, so I decided I must see Oasis.

Thats the worst part, I wasn't even dragged there by friends with poor taste, it was my own stupid decision.

The worst part was that i had an almost identical dilemma last year with Groove Armada V The Verve, and found that i had learnt nothing. Went to see the Verve and really wished I'd ended the Festival with the errrm slightly more upbeat Groovemeisters. Not that The Verve were shite or anything, just not where I personally should've been.
