Blabbermouth

DOWN's name has been removed from the list of artists who are scheduled to appear at the 2009 edition of the Bonnaroo festival, set to take place June 11-14 in Manchester, Tennessee.

The original poster announcing the lineup for this year's Bonnaroo festival (with DOWN included on the list) can be viewed below.

DOWN is the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA). In October 2008, the group released a "deluxe edition" of its critically acclaimed third album, "Over the Under". The deluxe package, which was made available as a Best Buy exclusive, includes a DVD with over 30 minutes of previously unreleased live performances and behind-the-scenes footage. The album was released on Down Records in conjunction with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group (ILG).

Philip Anselmo (ex-PANTERA) revealed in an online post that DOWN has recorded at least six new songs for a possible new CD which may also include previously unreleased material from the "Over the Under" sessions.

Headlined by PEARL JAM, METALLICA and JACK JOHNSON, the 2008 edition of Bonnaroo grossed about $17 million, according to Billboard Boxscore, and won its fourth Top Festival honor at last year's Billboard Touring Awards.
