Weekend Only/Day Tickets, What's The Traffic Like?

Hi, I live local to the Download festival site (in Loughborough) so was thinking of getting weekend only tickets with no camping (I'm not that keen on camping)!

Can anyone advise me what the traffic situation is like travelling to and from the festival each day, is this a practical option, others must do this, what's it like? I don't really want to be stuck in queues for hours.

Much appreciated.

i just hang around the festival site for a bit longer, have something to eat(maybe a choc ice for dessert ha ha),let the queues die down and drive out later with no probs.not ideal but u might as well be there for an extra hour or so as sit in a traffic jam.

My Brother in law said that on Planet Rock radio station someone from Download [one of the organisers] was being interviewed and they said that Day tickets would be going on sale and earlier than usual this year, also there will be more classic acts announced for the Sunday [but this was before ZZ Top were announced]

Alright dude I also live in Loughborough, you should be absolutly fine travelling at anytime. If you cut through Diseworth and Long Whatton you wont get stuck in the queues for the M1. If you leave Donington and travel towards the M1, a few mins down the road before the airport you take a right turn into Diseworth and its country road onwards. Thankfully the majority of people there need the M1 so dont go that way.
