glastofun
so thats 10 minutes of the gig sorted, what would they do for the other hour and 50. please, lets have someone good, and young. the rumours list is already overloaded with acts over
bonny147
They really seem to be polarising opinion. I love them but can sort of grasp that if you don't love them then it's probably a proper hatred that you have for them. Brits last night proved that they have more than enough songs for a greatest hits set. Sundown set ideally.
Yokel Again
they were simply brilliant in 00, cracking day that
sifi
Their first few albums were great. Then I got bored. Probably about the time they did Go West. But songs like "It's a Sin", "What have I done to deserve this", "Love comes quickly" and "Suburbia" were great. I also like "Opportunities". And their cover is "Always on my mind" was fun too. Although I preferred Yazoo to be honest. Edited February 20, 2009 by sifimaster
Tugger2k
Fair enough if you don't like them (although the irrational age thing isn't), but to imply a set list of their greatest hits would only fill a short space of time is just not true, they have had shed loads of big singles. Tugger2k
HAHAHAHA! I do hope you're having a laugh. They could easily fill 2 hours with awesome pop music.
sifi
Contemporary = Modern, of the present time
eFestivals
They are a superb act live. Never disappointed me at a range of venues hmmmm .... saw them at Bestival a few years back ..... all the music was pre-recorded, tho the vocals were spot on. Ultimately, I felt I'd have got as much enjoyment from listening to their CDs.
micawber
in your opinion in mine theyd be lucky to get 10 minutes worth of songs but thats music, were all different, and i cant stand them, couldnt when i was a kid, even more now. the age thin is down to the fact that the current suspected headliners are all over 40, and you may find it irrational, but the festival is called the G F O CONTEMPORARY P A Contemporary = Modern, of the present time
sifi
I always thought contemporary was musically different to classical, that's all. Although we had Wagner the other year. eFestivals
If that was the 2006 performance I was stood next to the sounddesk and from what was going on there I am fairly sure that the vocals were also pre-recorded. yeah, it was 2006. I can't say I was paying enough attention to know if the vocals were pre-recorded, but it was blindingly obvious that all of the music was. sifi
To be honest the 80's was pretty bad decade for music, imo
barney73
They're pretty much a marmite type of band: you either like them or hate them. Personally I like marmite and pretty much like PSB. They were a backdrop to my youth. Their early stuff is spot on. Wasn't too sure of stuff past Introspective but even then there were a few gems amongst the later work. If they play I will be there to watch. tonyonekenobi
Seemingly the new PSB album is a concept one. It's based around the life and times of Duncan Norvelle. According to NME.com it's working title is Chase Me!

Tugger2k
It's not an opinion that they#ve had loads of hit singles. It's a fact.

glastofun
its an opinion if you think singles matter i dont, singles are something you listen when your 12 so IMO theyd struggle to find 10 minutes worth of music worth listening to

sifi
With the PSB, a lot of my favourite stuff are the remixes that you got on the 12", and some of the 12" imports. I've got a Japanese import with a Shep Pettibone version of What Have I done to Deserve this that totally opens the song up into new directions. Tis great. edit : Or was it Heart? I can't remember now. Edited February 24, 2009 by sifimaster
