Barrier/ Golden Circle/ Pit etc

Hi

Can anyone who's been to Download before tell us what set up they've got for the pit at the front?

Is there any crowd seperation barriers or one of those god awful Golden (Rip Off) Circles where you have to have a different type of wristband?

I know it may seem like a bit anal but I love getting near the front and hate it when they have those damn barriers.

Last year they had a barrier around a semi circle at the front, but you don't need a seperate wristband, you can just walk in it.

They've moved the arena, but it'll be similar this year. You'll have no bother getting to the front.

ozzfest 02 was the golden circle

download 03-07 was the T barrier (my personal fave)

Last year was the D barrier

Looking at the map area i think we will prob have the T barrier again but i'm not 100% sure

It probably was tbf Radstocker. The D-Barrier is safer in the way of crowd saftey. Stops surges, and it gives security another line to help further back.

I still get in the pit on occasions depends if the mood takes me.(or how much alcohol I have consumed)

last time i went in a pit was Raging Speedhorn at leicester charlotte about 5 years ago, i lasted about 3 songs! don't get me wrong, i love a good dance, but i like space to dance and like to be able to smoke and drink while i do it! i forget why getting the shit kicked out of me used to seem fun...!

Last time for me was Slipknot @ DL 06 (? I think) I managed to stay there through Slayer for Slipknot and within the first 30 seconds I needed out, security had to pull me out by my belt lol!

never went 2005 either, it was my only festival-less summer since i started going to them in '99. it sucked! i didn't know Slipknot played that year, but i knew they hadn't played since having been! some tool on these boards somewhere recently posted a message saying 'why the fuss about Slipknot they've played Download every year for the past 4 years'. what an idiot.
