Hi,

Since going to glastonbury from 2005 at the grand old age of 12 i have never seen a saturday headliner on the pyramid. Anyone else ?

2005 = Coldplay... Not really in to them in 2005 so i saw an amazing set from the others at leffield.

2007 = The Killers... It had to be madness at Lost Vagness.

2008 = Jay-z... As i missed massive attack before it had to be them

2009 = Bruce... If blur are gonna be playing the other stage it has to be BLUR. Plus i think bruce is so overrated...

any thoughts...

Cheers

Matt

Until last year I hadn't seen a Sat headliner at Glasto and i've been going since 1998 (Missed the Macca year though)

Only went to see Jay-Z last year as I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Not a fan of his music before but was really glad I went as the performance was fantastic. I will probably go and see Bruce this year on the same basis even though i'm not a great fan of his music.

For me this is what Glasto is all about, checking out acts you wouldn't ever consider going to see usually. I am now a massive Leonard Cohen fan & Neil Diamond after checking them out last year.

i'm the opposite, saw both 07 and 08 headliners, but don't think i'll be seeing bruce.

i'll get a couple of albums, see if i get into him but i've never really listened to him so i'm not fussed.

don't like franz at all either so hoping the park lineup is good! i'm sure JP linup will be good, but i'd have to get there hours before hand if i wanted to get in!

A few years ago at Off The Tracks I met a muscian who's band were playing Glastonbury and he

went ever year.

We got chatting at the bar and Folk and Blue Grass music where his thing.

When it came down to it , with the exception of Coldplay , which got

"I have heard of em , but no idea what they do ! " every other band or act that would play at The

Pyramid or Other Stage he had never heard of.

Just shows that whilst some people thing Glasto is all about The Pyramid headliners , other people

will not even know who is playing , and be very happy elsewhere.

2004 = Paul McCartney (I had to look this up cos I couldn't even remember who this was) really not my cupocha, the Beatles are overrated so I went to see Basement Jaxx on the Other instead.

2005 = Coldplay- I was wondering around behind Jazz World and stumbled across The Highliners on the Sensation Seekers Stage so instead of having a miserable time I had a chuffing ace time.

2007 = The Killers- Yep, I crammed into Madness at Lost Vagueness, after catching Dirty Pretty Things at Strummerville.

2008 = Jay-z- Again I was wandering and ended up watching The Highliners again.

I've only ever seen one Pyramid headliner out of the 12 I've had the chance to till now and that was The Who.

2009 = Bruce- very likely. Depends who else he clashes with but I do fancy a bit of this.

I'm in the no-Saturday-Pyramid camp too, 04 I saw Amp Fiddler & Squarepusher in The Glade, 07 I was sat down in a café after !!! in the Glade had exhausted me and 08 I was at Ethiopiques in the Jazzworld but don't remember much of it . Only ever seen 2 Pyramid headliners, Oasis, who were shite and Muse who I don't like but couldn't be bothered to leave but I grudgingly admit were quite good. This year could bump that number up considerably though if rumours are true.

The Pyramid is generally the dullest of all stages, loads of old bands/easy listening acts. Doesn't really do it for me. From the current line-up I can't see much on there this year that will tempt me into that field.
