Cig's weigh nowt so I'd stock up, if you can get cheap duty free ones I suppose you could even flog some when you're there.

For clashes, I tend to go for bands that I wouldn't normally pay to go and see (or just wander round and see where I end up)

Neve been into all this "smuggling" lark. Just took a liter bottle of coke in and shoved a half bottle of vodka (plastic of course) in the pocket of my combats.

Line up is not looking promising if the rumors are true. It'll be radio friendly with a pop bias. All that said V can and have pulled out some gems so you never know!

Ciggies?

Rip off at v, wandering whether to stock up berfore?

Definatley take ciggies, when i used 2 smoke in 06 i was paying £6 a pack so i dread to think how much they are charging now! They only seem to sell one brand too (cant remember which one tho)

How to decide what band when in a clash B)!?

I think which band its gonna be easier to get tickets for outside of v and which one would be the most expensive 2 get tickets for and go with that one.

Vodka in the welly again?

Get one of these instead. http://www.millets.co.uk/walking/hydration...uct/091745.html. if you shop around you can get them for about £10. fill with chosen beverage, put on your back, coat over the top and hey presto! ive never not managed to get mine into the area. theres also more room in the bag to fit little bottles of vodka etc. so you can keep topping up during the day

Who thinks the line ups going to be amazing.

B) muse need to play again if only.

Personally i think the line up is gonna be a bit poop this year but i know i will have an amazing time anyway so im not too bothered!

Is it worth taking i.d?

Definatley, i always get id'd grrr

I think the lineup will be quite good. I've already got my ticket (earlybird back in August), but I wish I hadn't and instead got a ticket to Sonisphere or Bloodstock (and had been able to get the time off work).

Oh well, at least I'm going to Glasto too.

Had no probs with the ciggies last year, think paid a fiver and came in the tins like has just been said which was handy due to the poxy rain!! (no drenched ciggies lol)

Getting alcohol into the arena has never really been a problem for me i just readily open my bag and look all innocent so they dont even check me then haha!! water bottles filled with voddie and coke bottles with coke !! happy days!!! xx

Yes.

I go to V because it's a bit pop tbh! It's just a bit of fun. Nothing too serious, people are gereally pretty fun loving and everyones there for a laugh. It's not like R&L where everyone's trying soooo hard to be cool. At V, no one really cares!! :)

With a clash there's three things that swing it:

Non-headliners or massive bands -

Go for the one you like but wouldn't normally see or that don't come your way very often.

For big acts and headliners I use these rules

The iconic band that you haven't seen in ages and loved - ie The Verve over Kaiser Chiefs

Or A band you know the words to every song - nothing like singing very loud as it gently rains on the Sunday night knowing the Foo Fighters are the greatest band you'll see in your lifetime.

Platypus water carrier is a great way of carrying vodka or mixed drinks but they get suspicious if its lager coloured.

Cigarettes, stock up as I see tons of people with 20 packets of last fags (I don't smoke but its amazing how many people seem to be on their last one by Saturday).

I reckon V is better than Reading like Bekimo says, but mainly as you don't get the Reading style riots at 2am which ruined the two times I've been to Reading. V is more chilled out with Seasick Steve playing its gonna be awesome.

First time i've been back on here since last year, (got the bug again after getting my tickets) so don't know if this may have already been answered somewhere else but whats the craic with no early bird this year?? Was looking forward to the extra day of chilling and getting into the v spirit!?

Hi i went to leeds fest last year but im considering v fest this year because it is more my kind of music! I was just wondering what the nighttime entertainment is, (after the music has finished). At Leeds they had a silent disco, the duracell tent and camp djs.. Is there anything like this at V??

Earlybirds - don't you know U2 are playing Sheffield, you could be up there and back in time for Friday setup!

I think they will release the Thursday camping around June like last year, think they have to clear it with planning, highways, etc... first.

As for entertainment there's the Indie Disco on the Friday, or you can just dance to the music from the Bungee Catapult while watching all the very pale riders stagger off it.
