Funkfarley
Right, Me again. Forget bands, artists and headliners. If on the thursday you could have a group/artist play your favourite feelgood tune for a sunny, drink laden, happy day...what would you go for...? Me? The Doves with Pounding (and There goes the fear!) And ELO with Mr Blue Sky. A day full of those tunes that make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside... Name your tunes! hazey_jane
For me, it's gotta be Breaking Up by Rilo Kiley. This song got me through a very difficult patch last year and although I managed to sort things out with my boyfriend and we're still together, it gives me the hope and knowledge that should things go wrong again, I'll be okay at the end of it all. Keev
Not really a Thursday night tune but I was thinking earlier how good Modest Mouse - Float On would be in an afternoon slot at Glasto. Have they ever played? Every time I hear it I just think of a sunny field at a festival somewhere. Linking shoulders, swaying from side to side!! fantomas
They played at Connect in 2007 but I wasn't in to them much back then so didn't see them. Float on is a cracking festival tune though.

grumpyhack
Free and Alright Now. OK I know Free can't be any more but any of the 'sons of' spin offs such as Queen and Paul Rogers. I remember listening to it once on the car radio as I drove across Salisbury Plain as dawn broke and the most incredible red sun rose over the horizon. A great song will often take you back to a place or time or person. It's also one of those songs that is instantly recogniseable simply from the opening chord
