Hmm, wondering how many people are being accurate with thier first gigs, it's very tempting for people to go "cool" instead of honest if you know what I mean?

I put Hugh and Cry down as my first gig, I was about 14 and went with my parents....now....if I'd have put the first gig without parents it was The Inspiral Carpets which, depending on your views, is infinatly cooler than Hugh and Cry!

Last: Thte Killers last Monday.

First Glasto: Gogol Bordello, 2007

Last Glasto: The Who 2007.

Mr.Tickle, I think admitting my first gig defo shows I'm not trying to be cool!

My first gig was Reading festival 2000 to see Oasis headline (tho I was dragged along to see Daniel O'Donnell at Butlins a good few years earlier on family holiday - I did'nt have a choice - thought i'd confess that for comedy value!!!)

Last gig was Keane @ the o2 a couple of weeks ago

First/Last Glasto acts was The View/The Who in 2007 (my only time, returning this year!)

1st - Stiff Little Fingers 1980 Manchester Appollo

Last - Magazine 14th Feb 2009 Manchester Academy

1st Glasto - (probably) Gay bikers on acid 1987

Last - Phil Hartnoll (I think) 2008

A lot of people here seem to have gone to the NME tour thing at Manchester. I went on the Saturday and was quite impressed with the 1st three bands; then Glasvegas (who I had mainly gone to see) came on and were woeful! Half the audience left after a couple of songs!

i loved them - best new band my miles...really intense, im glad some people left indicates how abrasive their sound is ....people at early marychain gigs used to walk too as they played with their back to the audience and Hawkwind used to mess up the sound balances to make their audience trip and vomit...

I am SO not going for the cool vote:

First gig: The Thompson Twins (yes, I know, Mother of God), Liverpool Royal Court 1983 (I was 14, okay!)

(I got the ticket - £3.50 - with my Christmas money from my gran. The next year she wouldn't send cash as she "didn't want to risk another pop concert")*

Last gig: Florence/White Lies/Friendly Fires/Glasvegas at Nottingham Rock City.

Sorry gran, looks like your plan didn't quite work out.

* To be fair re the Thompson Twins, she probably had a point.
