Wab
After 07 I think the festival had become so successful it had perhaps lost some of its diversity. At that time it said it wanted to attract younger people, I think this up to a point disenfranchised long time adherents though that was was not necessarily the intention. I think now a balance is being struck and have no doubt there will be something for all.

Kyelo
I was amazed last year by the amount of 30+s sat down on camp chairs on front of the Pyramid stage, never seen that at other festivals I have been to. I have friends who won't go to Glastonbury because of the 'old, hippy' reputation it has.
kinglewi
Im 20 and this will be my second trip to glasto, my first being 07, then there was a lot of the 'new headliners' with a lot of younger bands, but even though there not necessarily my favourite acts im extremely looking forward to the line up this year, really looking forward to blur (although i prefer oasis ) and and the chance to see a legend of the industry in springsteen really excites me. But there will be lots of newer bands, like franz and kayne. Although after 2007 i would like to see kasabian and maximo park again as they made the festival for me. russycarps
Well no actually. I also know people who won't go to T in the Park because of it's 'ned' reputation. They are both partly correct though, I noticed the average Glasto goers age was higher than others I have been to and T is full of 'neds'. I'm not alone with this, there are always threads on here talking about how Glastonbury needs to change and get younger punters. In the long term I would say Glastonbury will have to change it's reputation but then that adds the problem that older punters will see it as selling out and 'golden days' having gone. Kyelo
your mates (and you) should stop worrying about what other people are doing and what age they are and concentrate on enjoying yourselves. I couldnt care less how other people choose to have fun at a festival, providing they are not inhibiting someone elses enjoyment and I certainly dont see how people sitting in chair affects anyone else at all. Very, very stange thing to say.
trixnstuff
I do find crowds at Glastonbury more subdued than most festivals(apart from the headliners). Not saying its a good or a bad thing, just different.

russycarps
Eh why me? It doesn't bother me, I ain't going to T but I am going back to Glastonbury this year. My point still stands though, there are a lot of people like that. They see the line-up and go because of that. Unless you experience Glastonbury you won't realise that it is unique. People just see the line-up and compare. The atmosphere at the certain stages during the day I found quite dull aswell, the fact so many folk are just sat down watching acts does influence other people. I enjoyed it but it wasn't the same bounding around dancing atmosphere I am used to which most young people are looking for.
Martin Ashford
As a 50 year old who is going to be a Grandpa in June (!) can I just point out that although this year's line up is terrifyingly appealing to me because of the "oldies"booked, I will still be spending half my time at the Glade and Dance Village and hoping to catch a load of newer, less established acts. You're only as old as you want to be and I'm still one of the "youngest" people I know. You won't catch me sitting on a bloody chair!
